I think the original idea was based on no past winners showing any intent to enter, it was more a "this could be a tourney to guarantee a first time champ". The wild card thing always stated it was reserved for title holders and "marquee" style battlers.

If this was UA, DaDDiO, Jason, Illy etc I highly doubt anyone would be saying a thing about it. The way I read it was that wild card slots were, as I mentioned, for title holders, marquee battlers and people who had been prevalent in battling on the site recently. 24 slots is more than enough to cover that I'd say.

I know it's not personal Streetz, we've always been cool, but I think there's a bit of a double standard depending on just who the name is.

I feel whut u sayin.. but i think in order to prove ur the best u need to get past the best and if askari has a spot in the gc, hes still mortal and still can lose to someone with better bars...i think it much more a satisfying victory to eliminate a GC during the process of becoming one yourself..just my thoughts.
