I've been trying to live my life according to karma as of late. Figured it couldn't hurt. The other day I skipped college and though "That wont be great for my karma, but screw it, I save myself 3 hours". Got home after an hour waiting and an hour on the bus. No keys. Had to wait an additional 3 hours.

@Agonize, as I said above, you cant fuck with religion though. If God created the world, and is the almighty power, then he could easily had made sure that his message was truly passed down with precision and accuracy. It could all have been part of his plan.

Through the Torah, Koran, Bible, Pillars of Islam? How precise is that. If there is a God and creator, how pissed is he about that whole free will thing. We really botched that one up.

I don't believe in Karma, especially when it is extended to the concept of reincarnation and the after-life. I think it was some bullshit the Aryans used to keep down the conquered Dravidian a long ass time ago.
Karma makes sense in that for every action, there's a reaction. If you punch somebody in the face, the reaction may be that their nose bleeds. If your grandmother dies later, for someone to say that was "karma" because you hit somebody in the face is preposterous. So it makes sense to me only in a very narrow action/reaction context, but then again, I wouldn't call that karma.

The burden of proof lies with those making the claims.

Atheist to me are people who have had something traumatic happen in their lives. To a point where they say: ''Wow, there can be no God.'' And I actually feel sorry for some of you, if this is the case. In my opinion, the World is about to hit some SERIOUS SHIT. I don't call myself a Christian. I was confirmed at a young age, didn't have a choice, it was a family thing. I haven't been to church since, besides funerals.

IMO- the church is front to get money, if you do your research right through history, you'll see the corruption. But religion can be a good thing for some people. If it's used properly.

Truth is, you don't matter. At all. You can be the best person in the world, or the worst person, and it doesn't really matter in the long run. The universe as a whole won't end up better or worse for it. Everybody you killed, or everybody you saved is going to die anyway, and people are going to forget your name. Bro, any statement about reality has the burden of proof. It doesn't matter if its worded positively as in "something is" or negatively as in "something isn't." By your logic, if I say 2 + 2 does not equal 4, I shouldn't have the burden of proving that because I stated it negatively? If no one has ever taught me or shown me proof that 2 + 2 equals 4, that mean I can make the absolute statement that 2 + 2 DOES NOT equal 4 and I'm immune to having to prove that claim on reality due to lack of proof of the contrary?

Why do Atheists have to disprove your beliefs and thoughts?

There is no evidence of a god, and therefore if you want to make up a god in your mind then fine, who cares. However once people start acting like it's a fact, then you have to prove it. I don't have to disprove YOUR imaginary friend, that would be ridiculous. If I ran around telling everyone I could fly, and when questioned answered "Well you can't prove I can't" everyone would laugh at the ridiculousness of it. When it comes to religion people act like this is a good argument, it's not it's ridiculous. It's your theory therefore it's your responsibility to prove it, not anyone else's to disprove it.

Secondly, just because something hasn't been proven to not exist does not mean that it does. If I say that the Hulk from the Marvel characters does exist, then as there is no evidence to suggest he doesn't does not prove that he does.

There is not a scrap of evidence that there is a god, none whatsoever. There is a staggering amount of evidence for evolution amongst other things that contradict lots of your beliefs. Why would you expect me to take the view of the people who provide no evidence?

AND evolution does not state we come from monkeys, it states we have a common ancestor with apes. If you thought that evolution stated we come from monkeys then perhaps you should reflect upon your knowledge on evolution and do some reading and then make your mind up on the theory. Many of you won't do that, you worry that it's blasphemy or just want to avoid something that might shatter your beliefs. Well as an Atheist I can read anything, holy scriptures or science and anything in between, when we draw our conclusions I can see the full picture whilst you subject yourself to only one small portion.
