U.S. to invade & attack Syria

I'm not Syrian or middle eastern, but this news sickens me.

we've made allegations that the Syrian government used chemical weapons to kill 1,300 of their own people the other day in this civil war & they're trying to cover it up

this could very well be true, but this is looking a lot like George Bush claiming Iraq had WMD and they didn't have any. it looks to me as if we're invading a country under a false pretense, or using a justified pretense for unjustified reasons in order to get closer to another country that has something we want. maybe a resource in Syria, maybe to set up democracy, or maybe it could be about waving our dicks to Russia

Russia is very much against us invading Syria

but if you know anything about who runs the world you know Europeans are the shot callers and the U.S. is the E.U.'s goon

so of course we're proceeding to do what we want with the likes of France & the UK giving us their full support

the U.S. is a war mongering, terrorist-like country. idc what ya'll say and i know this'll lead to political discussions and some counter-arguments from people that swear the U.S. is a fairytale utopian country out of a Disney movie but not everything is as it appears.

Obey 08-28-2013 11:34 AM

I agree w/ @Godbody - I'm willing to bet there's no ACTUAL reason for us to get involved. Sometimes my country makes me sick, but we have great cheese steaks. So I can't complain.

Nicholas 08-28-2013 11:39 AM

The evidence looks pretty conclusive, I support the advance to go to war with Syria. BUT It's hypocritical since the U.S are bombing civilians in Yemen with drones and double-taps regularly.

Denton 08-28-2013 11:42 AM

If it pops off... Syria gonna get this work. Guess I better suit up

J u s T C 08-28-2013 11:54 AM

If you think this is a conspiracy you're mental, it's well known Syria has been using chemical weapons on it's own people. This is why they have been stalling U.N inspection for so long so they can clean up the evidence.

Pulse is known for his conspiracy B.S.

Godbody 08-28-2013 11:59 AM

Its not about it being a conspiracy

Its the fact that the U.S. walks around like we're the best shit to happen since water and we poke our noses everywhere as if its the U.S.'s duty to police the entire world

there's 200 countries, many of them very capable of handling the situations we involve ourselves in. So why is it ALWAYS the U.S. sticking their nose where it doesn't belong and why is it ALWAYS in the middle east or nearby?

Libya, Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Syria

Maybe it's all a coincidence and the U.S. has a very big heart and we're the best fucking country in the world and w/e other Disney story you can come up with

but at what point does policing turn into conflict of interests? & an ever so apparent attempt to have an extremely strong grip on the middle east?

Just because something doesn't fit into your utopian narrative of the world or the U.S. doesn't make it a conspiracy. Let's deal with reality and facts...not our perceptions

J u s T C 08-28-2013 12:06 PM

Tbf the U.S has been put under presure to intervene, they didn't even want to. But the Iraq wars made that almost impossible now that real chemical weapons are being used, they'd look like hypocrites. In a way they've forced their own hand.

Godbody 08-28-2013 12:11 PM

Well tbf the U.S. said they'd get involved if Syria used chemical weapons a long time ago. before any of this was news

Cool. That doesn't explain what their heavily vested interest in the middle east is nor does it justify invading Iraq under a false pretense. & We did go into Libya and fuck up their leader against Russia's demand for us not to

if we take out Syria, Russia will lose billions of dollars. Russia's made over $5 billion selling weapons to Syria. could this have something to do with our animosity towards Russia and provoking WW3?

or could the fact that we're fuckin up Russian allies just be a coincidence? but again you have to ask yourself why we're so heavily vested in the middle eastern area & a justified, sensible answer to that question still doesn't answer why we went to Iraq & why we're so interested in Iran now, too.

Phil Banks 08-28-2013 04:03 PM

Hmmm.... the premise is that Syria's entrenched regime used chemical weapons against rebel fighters/civilians.....

Personally if i lived outside of the area i'd be more worried about the implications this has of the US willing to fight the world to further it's own agenda.... ignoring other powers like Russia an China to me it's kind of scary WW3 an all that....

Living here it sucks.... if they hit Syria groups here hit Israel the cycle continues an the average person here has their life expectancy an quality of life drop dramatically...

Would like to add that the Syrian Regime that the US is gonna fight against has killed several members of my family here... i'm as anti syrian as you get.... still this a bad look.... only gon get worse..

I've seen pics of dudes eating peoples hearts an cutting off faces and grilling them.... lmao... those were rebels doing that.... sometimes the enemy of your enemy just a mafucka who gon be a bigger enemy down the road an for some reason after 30 years of getting that lesson reinforced by action the western world still aint learn....

Would you of said that when Hilter was gassing jews?

Syria are using chemical warfare on their own people. Civilians are dying. It's easy to sit back in our comfort and say we don't want to get involved.

So you're willing to let your own friends and familiy die? I don't think you quite grasp the severity of this if it all kicks off to it's full potential.

It's not our problem, we don't live our lives peacfully and by the law just to get dragged kicking and screaming into a war which has absolutely nothing to do with us. It might as well be a rebirth of the slave trade.

We have problems of our own to deal with just like they have problems THEY need to deal with.

It's a tricky situation, but why are my friends and family better than a Syrians friends and family?

I really don't think Russia and China will get involved. I know it's a possibility I just don't see it happening, there is too much to lose for them and little to gain.

Phil Banks 08-28-2013 04:58 PM

Israel kills atleast 1-2 Palestianians a day for the last 60 years not a fucken word... Assad Regime suppoesdly uses Ciran gas an the its worth fighting a global war over???

The thing is Saudia Arabia Qatar an Dubai the big gas an oil countrys are predomintely Sunni... Assad Iran Hezbollah all Shiaa its just America scratching an allies back...

On another note gas prices may drop some from US an Britan so fuck it

Phil Banks 08-28-2013 05:00 PM

I didn't say our family's are better, because it has nothing to do with being better, it's about being dragged into a deadly situation we have absolutely nothing to do with. why should Obama or Cameron get to play god with the lives of it's respective country's civillians?

Not to mention we don't even know if their intentions are sincere and not something more selfish and sinister.

Phil Banks 08-28-2013 05:04 PM

the only ones that suffer are the poor Syrians who couldnt afford to get out the country all the rich ones are sitting in Lebanon an Jordan like nothing is going on

J u s T C 08-28-2013 05:06 PM

Millions of people in both the US and UK live their lives peacfully just for them to get dragged into a confrontation they lived day by day to avoid on the say so of 2 people?

It's fucked up whats happeneing to the Syrian people. But neither us or the US can get involved without it exagerating into something much bigger. If all it does is escilate the situation then it's a pointless exercise which will just lead to the deaths of millions more with absolutely no garuntee of victory for any party involved.

Godbody 08-28-2013 05:06 PM

Nicholas you don't seem to understand that @Just C is absolutely right

We should offer our help if shit hits the fan and they're gassing their own people. That doesn't mean you can use that event to justify an invasion and possibly another war. This rises U.S. tension with Russia tremendously considering how we just fucked up Libya(Russian ally) and now we're pretty much waltzing into Syria despite Russia telling us not to simply because the U.S. + E.U. is a menace Russia wouldn't wanna deal with so they're letting this shit rock

The thing I'm pointing out is, why is it always OUR men and women? Don't China & India have armies bigger than ours? Why aren't they going "Omg Syria, we out"

Why does the U.S. ALWAYS involve itself in worldly affairs that don't pertain to them and why in the last 12 years has the focus for "aid" and "liberation" been in a concentrated area such as the middle east?

Everytime these wars happen it's almost always my cousins, my friends, etc putting their lives on the line because OUR government has a problem with another government and world leaders are too pussy to put the gloves on and fight

If you have family in the army and they're always getting shipped off somewhere that has extremists and pretty lethal weaponry you'd feel the same fuckin way

to sum up this thread: why does the U.S. have to play Captain Save A Ho and why is it always in the middle east when the entire world has countries plagued with disease that kill waaaay more people than wars. or in Africa's case, genocides. Genocides are still humans committing crimes on humanity..isn't that what we respond to? Yet we left Africa alone

We leave all these countries alone until our world leaders get bored and decide to they need to flex on these other niggas

Yeah I can see your point here. As I said it's a tricky situation, there really is no wrong or right.

I'm British, but you're right very little. You're schooling me right now, but a couple of posts back I asked about this and got told the answer was obvious like I'm some kind of idiot. Maybe I'm ignorant, but our news gives us very little detail unfortunately. However I put myself out there as open to learn and got shut down, so.... what can I do?
