assume that text battles MUST flow? Like, you have NO idea how the person typing is reading it so why is that one of our main categories? The problem is that all of you have that same bullshit style for text battling *god knows who came up with that* and if it doesn't sound right if YOU said it, then its bad. I think that's the main reason why most people lose text battles here. Some people may have different styles and a different way of saying things. I never got the point, someone says "oh your shit doesn't flow." And yours doesn't either fag. How am i suppose to know how you pronounce words? This definitely happens with new styles, everyone gets all confused and no one knows what the person was trying to get at. All we're doing is composing new similes & metaphors in easier ways to understand. That's why we use Expo's and all that other crap ( // {} ;: ) Try giving a expo at a live battle and see how that works out for ya.

thats why i don't pay attention to the flow of anything thats written. Unless artist who write the text say they modeled this flow off of "Eminems Renegade flow" for the battle than you would never know how it was written, But than if they did that people would talk shit because they bite flows.

No Offense Punk but when we are text battling, Flow is basically how easy it is to follow the lines, if someone writes -
(i kill hoes my dick big, massive enormous chick dig) doesn't flow
(yo i kill hoes cause my dick big, it's massive it's enormous your own chick dig) kinda flows

it's not the same as writing for tracks or audio because you have your own rhythm in your head if its accapella or in rhythm with the beat.

if you write 8 lines and it doesn't read well would mean the flow is whack, if it reads well and comes off the tongue easily it is in the essence of text battling flowing.

what do you mean must flow? that shit BETTER flow. The whole point of doing text battles is because you're too pussy to get on the mic. At least flow like it. or maybe its because your verse is too complicated & it'll go over heads in audio..so...RAP & HIP-HOP is an audio thing. it's music. I don't go to the text section to read fictional tales that rhyme by aspiring book writers. I go there to read RAP battles.

they better flow. & If you read it a certain way knowing that 99% of the audience doesn't read it that way, you should change it so that its read the same by everyone

flow needs to be there cause u wanna make the reader keep reading. So many times in the past I had to stop reading and go back to get the rhyme/concept because of someone's choppy writing. In text imo if u can accomplish someone to read through ur verse without trippin and understand everything you are talking about then ..mission accomplished. That's what I mean by flow in text battles

I was just about to say everything has to have a flow to it. If I read a newspaper article and the Journo riddles it with poor gramma it breaks up the momentum of the read causing a double take I.E breaking up the flow of the read.

Most of what needs to be said on the issue has already been said, but yes, the written word should definitely flow.

text battles should be structured as if your reading the lyrics to your favorite song
