AZ - Genesis
New 2013 freestyle for you fuckas... Pay homage to the original G.O.D. my niggas, this dude is arguably the greatest lyricist in Hip-Hop & easily the most underrated lyricist of all time (this isnt even opinion anymore, check how many of your favorite Hip-Hop sites rate this nigga #1 most underrated)
Anyway his new album is droppin this year..He's been working on it for 10 years and this nigga is as great as they come so I'll definitely be buying this http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature...&v=yPocBRH6zKQ |
7k to get AZ out here for a private show... wanna go halves on it pulse?
|
Meh.. Money can't be wasted on stupidities like that B
I wouldnt mind dropping $60 or some shit to see him in concert |
sorry Jason but your opinion is invalid because you aren't a Hip-Hop aficionado. Any real Hip-Hop fan knows what it is everytime AZ gets on the mic
Maybe you gotta listen for the lyrics instead of the beat. There's a reason cats like Eminem (who you worship) name AZ as an influence. It's all in the lyrics Lets not forget AZ coulda been had fame and money but chose to educate and drop knowlege. Dude CHOSE to go from a major to independent and he owns his own publishing. Owning your own publishing is a big fuckin deal if you know anything about it sorry he doesn't wear skirts and take dicks behind closed doors like Kanye West. making 9 minute music videos with blasphemous lyrics doesn't make you creative or a genius. Sorry to burst ya bubble Jason There's a reason AZ has the respect of anybody who's anybody and sat at tables with BIG & Jay-Z in music videos. everything is by design guarantee his album will be better than any Kanye, Drake, or Kendrick Lamar bullshit. w/e you hippie niggas are into. Keep fuckin around with Blink 182 and Green Day son. Leave the Hip-Hop to niggas that know about it |
ain't no groupie-ness involved
I actually took college level courses in poetry where we analyzed certain aspects of poetry and wrote research papers comparing the structure of one poem to another from different time periods you're just a white boy that moderates a site. You don't know dick. You wouldn't know what alliteration or consonance is if it slapped you in the face. & If you do you probably don't look for it in fact if I gave you an AZ verse to break down you couldn't find half the shit in his verse structure-wise. & this doesn't only go for AZ in case you think i'ma "groupie" there's other rappers that I can present you verses from and you'd sit there with a thumb in your ass trying to pick apart verses So fall back B just because AZ uses vernacular and slang that renders suburban rock band white kids incompetent doesn't mean he doesn't deserve respect for the tremendous amount of skill he has on mics B..... take my dick out ya mouth son |
compare that verse to the state of hip-hop today and that shit is a dime
im not sayin he has to be your favorite rapper. im sayin give respect where respect is due all these years and not once has he tried that commercial route. this nigga didnt go find God and come back spittin bullshit. didnt retire and come back to the game..none of that bitchassness thats prevalent in the game. never had to make a dance or make songs with whoevers poppin for a buzz he's in a good space musically and continues to spit that raw shit thats missing in the game...and yeah it doesnt take 10 years to make an album but he said he wanted to make it perfect...you know artists can record 50 songs for an album and only 15 make the cut? this nigga probably has scrap tracks and verses left and right. pay attention to his albums and you'll see that he never falls off. never had a wack verse. and he gets better album after album theres no AZ fan club that i run. none of that bullshit. I just respect his consistency over a large body of work over a long period of time. i couldn't say the same about people like Nas, Em, or Jay-Z...who bar for bar have never been as consistent as A |
i see the point you're making but its not even like AZ makes those kind of songs that make you wanna cry...he's more of a street rapper... think Nas with more rhymes, or a much more sophisticated Jadakiss. and i don't think it goes against being a musician at all to not conform to what others wanna hear
you gotta remember guys like Eminem & AZ came on the scene when Hip-Hop was still Hip-Hop. Even you've got to admit that Hip-Hop is so big and commercial that's its leaning towards Pop. Even Eminem fucked around and experimented with some catchy commercial joints in his past few albums the fact that AZ never felt the need to do anything like that & he sticks to the Hip-Hop he knows when he entered the game shows a great deal of self respect, dignity, and maturity. |
sh1t was a1ght f10w was c001 but the 1yr1cs were b0r1ng
pretty average |
this an AZ song i fuck with |

this AZ album a classic 2 me... dude got some shit |
Lol you have to fuck with AZ heavy to pull out most of his gems..Doe or Die is the shit everybody familiar with AZ fucks with...same with The Format
First i'ma start with this joint most of ya'll never heard. and the lyricism is insane B "One of the few so elite, it's an honor to meet. Obama physique, groomed well - garments is sleek. Have a chick so in check you gotta con her to speak" "Don of the week, centerfold magazine style. Fuck Kenneth Cole, everything is Japanese now. Love dinner rolls, lemonade with iced tea mixed. Who's on beginner mode? I see through the sheisty shit" just look at how those lines are structure wise. fuck the complicated punchlines and metaphors. The repitition of certain letters. chick check con....the internals center fold kenneth cole dinner rolls be-ginner mode His shits more complicated than most people give him credit for and its probably for that exact reason that he's considered one of the greatest lyricists of all time. If not THE greatest. But definitely most underrated. then this spanish joint...since I'm a Dominican nigga |
y0u g0t r0asted 0ffa RM f0r th1s same sh1t
a1nt u 1earn? center fold kenneth cole dinner rolls be-ginner mode ^ hahahahaha the fucc 1 d0nt m1nd az he c00 but y0u 0n sum we1rd sh1t 1s there a reas0n y0u qu0ted that scheme? |
I quoted the scheme to show people like you who wouldn't have pointed it out if I didn't
and I never got roasted off RM for doing this same thing so I don't know wtf you talking about but its nice to know niggas stalk my moves. or try h4rd t0 |
Y0u th1nk pe0p1e w0u1dn't n0t1ce the scheme?
WHY!? 1ts r1ght there 1n pr1nt The 0n1y reas0n pe0p1e w0u1dn't h1gh1ght 1t 1s because 1ts n0th1ng spec1a1 0r 0utstanding and n0b0dy sta1k1ng y0u 1ts hard t0 m1ss an AZ fan b0y get c10wned 0n RM when br0ws1ng when theres 1 r1ght here 1 d0n't care 1f y0u 10ve h1m 1ts mus1c and as such 1ts subject1ve 1'm just strugg11ng t0 wrap my head ar0und why y0u th1nk he s0 spec1a1 0r 0ver pe0p1es heads and try t0 dr1ve 1t 1nt0 0r ta1k d0wn t0 any0ne wh0 sees 1t f0r what 1t 1s average and run 0f the m111 |
yea this verse was meh
---------- Post added at 09:00 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:55 PM ---------- lol if someone leaves there opinion just let it go cause defending his shit makes you sound like his biggest fan just saying |
Its not that im the biggest fan I respect opinions to each his own
but I've been listening to rap and involved in Hip-Hop longer than most of you on this site. How many of you niggas have a page dating back to '05? I've been listening to the shit for like 12 years and after listening to all kinds of rappers.. from the Eminems..to ICP's..from Jeru Da Damajah to the Meek Mills...Kool G Rap's to Rakims my opinion probably means a lot more than most of yours. not even saying you dont have the right to an opinion but there's not much a brown belt can teach a black belt feel me... :high: I liked the way AZ rhymed on Life's A Bitch but when I was first put on to him like his solo projects and shit..a good 7-8 years ago, I hated dudes style. 2 yrs ago after listening to hundreds of rappers and tens of thousands of songs...an iPod of 72,000 songs later.. I've come to the conclusion that this dude is one of the best to ever do it and I stand by that opinion if your parents tell you not to touch the pot cuz its hot, don't do it. moral of the thread. Ya parents look out for your well-being and only want whats good for you. Hip-Hop wise i'm pointing ya'll in the right direction without niggas like me, I'd take a 1 year hiatus and you niggas would be on here praising Chief Keef or some corny shit |
lol smh bro just cause you haven't been on this site since 05 doesn't mean you haven't been listening to hip hop long before you joined the site
---------- Post added at 07:18 AM ---------- Previous post was at 07:10 AM ---------- you truly are a fan cause if youweren't you wouldn't be getting pissed over other ppls opinions of this free style it's by far not his best work |
everyone should put they RM out here so i can roast them when I'm there
|
METH BARZ idc how long you've been listening to Hip-Hop. Longer than me? That depends on your age. I'm 21 listening to the shit since I was at least nine
I've memorized a couple hundred songs by heart. Listened to DISCOGRAPHIES by artists. HUNDREDS of rappers. Not 20.. Not 50, not even 100. but HUNDREDS from ya Elzhis to the Vinnie Paz's... Slick Ricks to MF Dooms I does this B... I doubt you ever had anywhere near 70,000 songs on ya iPod...this was my black 120GB iPod from a years ago..which I sold and got a 64GB iPod touch with another 7,000 songs on it B Trust me METH_BARZ when I tell you that you haven't heard as many rappers as me and aren't as familiar with Hip-Hop as I am I literally work where the shit was birthed B...Bronx, NY... its a 15 minute drive and I make the commute daily mon - fri. the OG's on the block sipppin on stoops and at the bodega spots speak Hip-Hop fluently son...always certain names they mention when it comes to the greatest to ever do it and that's BIG, Nas, Jay, AZ, Kool G, Rakim, & Kane. i could give a fuck about what some wigger in West Bumblefuck Nebraska thinks about rap |
I'm 25 bro lol I've been listening to this shit for ages I like az but this wasn't one of his better tracks bro
---------- Post added at 03:39 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:37 PM ---------- and who cares where your from that has nothing to do with listening to music |
It wasn't one of his better tracks..Shit, who said it was a track? If you're familiar with AZ's music you know its rare to get some new shit from him
this was more like a teaser of whats to come..this album was supposed to be released last year. and in 2011. he just procrastinates on his shit year after year but he wouldn't put something like this in early 2013 (he even has a video for this freestyle now) if he wasn't about it this time around AZ shits out better music than 90% of the industry. even if its not one of his better tracks its better than the majority of the shit you hear on the radio or see in the music videos. Stay set, sequel in the making 360, my beliefs in the nation ^ His opening lines carry weight but if you don't know what he's talkin about you're lost "Words exchanged, frequences divide. Some'll prefer fame, others lead and guide" ^ Sums up his entire rap career. Funny how much knowledge dude drops in his music and how hard he tries to help others grow. If you can't respect the lyricism respect his character. Look @ any AZ song on YouTube and the comments speak for themselves. So if ya'll think its just me with this opinion of him you aren't listening close enough to the lyrics Or you don't understand the vernacular he uses. Bet most of ya'll dont understand that '360 my beliefs in the nation' bar yet you wanna criticize since you don't understand something so ya'll think this niggas speaking in tongues |
didn't I just say I like him and now your trying to preach to me about his shit? really he isn't that hard to understand bro he's got some dope shit but he isn't over head man and honestly music is a preference and thats why it's so great because of diversity in different types of music and genres just cause you like someone doesn't mean the next guy has to because you say so like your the industries biggest A&R rep just give it a damn rest already
|
he got crazy multis an alliteration.. precise syllable counts AZ is a dope
i always felt Cormega more |
Yeah when I listened to AZ thoroughly i got the idea the motha fucka read the book on poetry
He's not a punchline/metaphorical nigga but he's got every thing else the consonance, assonance, internals, eye/slant rhymes, flow, substance, content, etc etc I like Cormega a lot too...in fact the entire Firm besides Nature & Foxy are some of my favorite rappers....extensive collection of Nas, Cormega, & AZ tracks they all compliment each other..Nas got the story telling down & some commercial success...AZ has rhyming & flow down pat and he's underground...Cormega has both but it seems dude completely vanished off the scene...these niggas are like a Venn Diagram with Nas & AZ on opposite sides & Mega in the middle Idk how those 3 niggas linked up but that was a beautiful thing for me & for Hip-Hop. Imagine not knowing who Crooked I, Royce, Joell, or Budden are.... then listening to them together for the first time as Slaughterhouse. You'd be wtf I gotta check out these niggas solo projects although I been bumpin Nas before I even heard of AZ and Cormega |
nah mega still out there he bout to form a super group with action bronson an rock from heltah skeletal last i heard i got him on twitter he even got new music out
hiphopdx.com |
word
damn then this nigga Mega really got blacklisted from Hip-Hop. I usually keep up with all my Hip-Hop shit and I know Mega still fucks with AZ I thought Nas stopped this nigga from shinin. I won't lie though, I haven't looked for new Mega shit in about 2 years. I liked Mega before I liked AZ |
