text and audio who do you have to beat to legitimately be considered a heavyweight in either category...? throw some names out here lets see who really qualifyes |
As soon as OTHER people start calling you a heavyweight, then you probably are one.

naw yo, a nigga can come in w/ they own swag and MURDER tha audio... Yeah u have to maintain flow, delivery, presence, and all but still that shiiii is NATURAL to some cats... Me n Molly have Almost identical records under 10 battles, n we've done well against top names. but we wasnt there long at all.. or tried to fully jump to tha Audio side... but me n loq both went thru hella phases tryna get tha Text shiii down. ion kno tho.

Text is more complex than audio. You have to use these things called metaphors, multis and wordplays amongst other things which until today I had no idea about, being an audio head and everything.

Yeah Audio is deff. easier .... its not easy by any means tho.... most cats have no delivery or cant ride a beat.... text is really the fundamentals. Where you learn how to construct metaphors n multis n punches... which in turn helps with creativity.

ive beaten blackbook reefer dissizit grizz mindfuck pulse only people ive lost to has been rican when i first got on and dissizit recently. The other losses were my lame attempts at sniping without reading the verses.. but IMO I wouldn't consider heavyweight unless they kill in both categories...somethin aint right about an "emcee" who only writes and doesn't attempt at audio. Tracks/Battles whatever the case... I think someone who's heavyweight is pretty well-grounded in anything regarding hiphop/battling. |
