Id like to welcome everyone to the second edition of LB Pick Em...i have collected a panel of experts to help weigh in their thoughts on this years football season to provide you with their personal Picks of The Week, what you might see on sunday, player/injury impacts, feedback from games, and much more...this years edition will start on Week 1 of the NFL season and continue until Week 15...the top two experts from each conference (with the highest correct-to-incorrect percentage) will advance to the playoffs...after picks from Week 16 and 17, we will then crown one expert the 'Pick Em Champion' which includes bragging rights for the year, potentially a custom title (?), and guaranteed entry into the next Pick Em edition

(Regular Season Rules: Each expert will submit 8 picks for the week, 6 regular picks and 2 upset picks...MAROON indicates the upset picks...all the experts have agreed to use the same website to determine the spread/line which will determine potential upset matches...each experts overall record will carry over from week to week...the picks MUST be in by 12 PM (noon) every Saturday or forfeit the week)

Where are you gettin your spreads from? I'll just bookmark the site now to keep up. I might post mine early every week depending.

also, we doing a straight win/loss, or make the spread type guidelines for counting wins?

i encourage you to get them in as soon as possible...there will be a lot of no-shows, probably one a week (hopefully not, but..) and the deadline for each week is the saturday before the games begin...were going to have to talk about what to do for thursday games as those are gonna be happening every week after Week 2

and as for the official spread site - if you have a good one, send me it and ill throw it in the original post for all of us to use...spreads change from site to site, so we need to take our picks all from the same site

scoring will carry over week to week...the best you can do is 8-0 in any given week, the worst being 0-8...a no-show or late entry automatically gets you an 0-8 week...a few 0-8's and youre pretty much out of the running because 8-0's come few and far in between

you pick who will win the game - the spread is only used to help determine underdog match-ups...my underdog and your underdog may vary, thats why we use the spread

other than that, straight up winner and loser of 8 matchups of your choice

also - the comment section is going to grow at a fast rate...please message me your picks and try to keep from posting them as comments

I'm going to win again. So idk why you guys are even doing this lol

i forgot to add - along with you six regular picks, and two upset picks, you need to submit one final score for one of your picks (in the event of a tie, the person with the closer overall score will win the week)

btw last yr we started on wk 3... however the record to beat from 2011 is

With 2 extra weeks this time the record will most likely fall so I'll be hoping to at least keep the record for highest win pct

and @Teek - thanks for the sites man...i cant check them out cuz theyre blocked at my work, but if that second link has all the matchups up to Week 16 (with lines) we should use that.....remember everyone needs to pull from the same site

I'm fine w whatever spread site tbh I just stumbled on covers looking for spreads past week one.

Yeah might hold off on picks now n see how the Vick stuff works. Gonna be a long season already.

Couple notes on Week 1: Eagles vs. Browns

Eagles defense is looking really decent against the Browns Offense. Eagles corners are doing alright, but getting pushed at times. In a regular game, I could see a few more caught passes.

Brown's Defense looks a lot tougher than I expected. Haden is beasting tonight and that Johnson LB had his name called all night. Jaqua Parker looks fresh tonight at DE. I always liked him in Philly, and week one he should still be decent.If Vick starts, he's going to be running for his life half the game.

Eagles Oline blows, but their RT is out for a funeral, with Todd back, it'll be better protection. I still see some struggle on the left side.

Eagles Offense has some issues. I think Foles is doing alright for a rookie. This is his wakeup call. For a preseason game and to lead 17-0 so far, I'm happy.
Others look a bit rusty, but holding their own in plays. They just can;t shake the corners.

Brown's Offense Shut out so they're not stepping up, but they're still gelling. They are still keeping Eagles D on the field, so by week one, I see more points.

i dont think the dline is going to give you as much trouble as you think...Phil Taylor just got put on the PUP list which leaves Sheard as the lone threat - and id argue PT commanded as much attention from Olinemen as Suh does for the Lions

Joe Haden is a heat-seeking missile tho, as is TJ Ward

Na Saints going to punish the Skins next week
