Mods are here to offer incentive tbh. but w.e. as far as the BA is concerned that's on the users. Modding isn't just about deleting votes and lowering VP. We're in the privileged position to offer the members activities.

Actually it is the mods duty. It's the same on every site on the world wide web. Especially sites in this particular genre.

Well besides from promoting the site.

You offer activities. Nobody wants to log onto a site where nothing is happening.

Members can make as many tournaments as they like. Nobody's stopping them, so "some" of the responsibility/blame HAS to fall on them.

But ultimately it falls on the staff to do what needs to be done to keep the site busy.

Also adding new features as well as fixing bugs

But that falls on the owner and his coder.

Myself and the other mods are just the middle men as far as that is concerned as we don't code or have access to the tools required to fix bugs/put technical ideas into place.

Deleting hate votes and such = keeps the battlers content.

Tournaments/competitions/activities/prizes = generates a buzz and gives the battlers a reason to log on and battle.

At the end of the day it requires everyone to do their part. For instance mods can offer as many incentives as they like. But if people don' t show, then it's a lost cause.

Everyone has to be pulling in the same direction otherwise it all just goes to shit.

But I do believe that as mods we should be doing everything we can to get the members involved and hyped. That's personally why I became a mod.

Till you get people like Phil and erupt and plenty others in the past who came from other sites and actually spent some time in the forums and got to find out you had to look a little deeper on here to see what's really up

In all honesty ... It would be a better idea to encourage the thousands of noobs we already have to start using the forums .... I've always thought it would be a better idea to force new members to use the forums more ... It would cut down on all the "monkey see monkey do" dickriders in the top 10 rankings and may even spawn a few genuine battlers once they realise what is actually dope and what's not

It would help a lot. I don't know if this would be a good idea but maybe placing the text and audio lounges at the top of the forums. that with everything else mentioned could get both lounges more active.

I mean maybe. And this is just an idea. Moving everything from the text an audio lounge into the general discussion. Place that at the top and delete the text and audio lounges.

Just throwing ideas out there. There are downfalls to it though. Like stickys for format specific tournaments taking up space amongst others. But I'm sure there could be a way around that.
