What happens after death

I'm going to get a variety of opinions..and I think they'll be something along the lines of

you go to heaven/hell
you rot in the ground
you reincarnate
you become a ghost

etc etc etc...theories like that..I know adding that ghost theory adds a whole new topic on top of this one..let's not venture into super-natural phenomena..just drop what you think & tell us why

Black Book 03-09-2012 10:58 PM

You meet Saint Peter the gate keeper, and your fate is decided.

Godbody 03-09-2012 11:01 PM

interesting, interesting..

NOBLE 03-09-2012 11:44 PM

Not the same thing happens to everyone. Caveat:I have absolutely no idea what happens when people die, so this is merely my best guess. I don't think whatever death entails exists outside of the domain "nature" as "nature" encompasses ALL. Throughout nature, one can observe a general tendency towards variety so there's no reason for me to believe in some uniform fate that awaits all those who die. It is probably more nuanced than the theistic belief that some people go to heaven and some got to hell. But the idea remains the same. Its not the same thing that happens to everyone.

SH1T L0RD 03-10-2012 01:06 AM

your consciousness transcends into a state of singularity between time and space and you flow among nothing/everything forever

Revan 03-10-2012 02:41 AM

Nothing happens. Your dead,

Thats it.

UNKNOWN ARTIST 03-10-2012 03:32 AM

^^^ exactly

NOBLE 03-10-2012 03:44 AM

Can you describe something that is non-existent by something that exists? If it wasn't something that existed, would you be able to describe it? Happenstance exists, and you are describing "nothing" as "happening" upon death. @RULE I think you need to look closer at this "nothing" that you speak of. Is the "nothing" which happens after death absolute or relative?

Here's an example .... About 6 months ago my dad stopped breathing he's had breathing troubles for years ... I recucitated him but he was gone for a good few minutes ... With his brain being starved of oxygen it took weeks before he was mentally back to his old self ... But there's a whole month he doesn't have a single memory of

Once your heart stops pumping and no oxygen is getting to your brain ... It shuts down ... End of story

Revan 03-10-2012 04:30 AM

Thats good enough for me.

You don't think there's nothing more to us than our physical bodies?

Revan 03-10-2012 04:52 AM

@ Apoc - No.

Im suprised at how many people are faith believers over factual evidence.

NOBLE 03-10-2012 04:59 AM

@RULE I'm not a faith believer. That's not where I'm coming from at all. I consider myself pretty rational and I would never argue something from a faith-based standpoint. But since the question is who we are and what we a limited/not limited to, would you consider your knowledge to be a "part" of yourself?

There Is No Factual Evidence
There Is Some "Eye Witness Accounts" And Thats It
Interesting That You'd Believe Someone That Just Went Through A "Near Death Experience" Over Someone Who Didn't (Like A Child Molesting Priest)

There Is More To Us Than Our Physical Bodies
But That Doesn't Mean That That Won't Die Too

Just C 03-10-2012 08:47 AM

Well all become Extra Dimensional beings. Basically what our eyes aren't trained to see.

Plenty of people have seen Ghosts aka Extra Dimensional beings who step into our realm to be seen. I've seen it for my self first hand so the stance that you just die isn't completely true, for some of us there is a different fate which lies ahead once we die. And who is to even say that just because your dad didn't remember anything, nothing happened? It could simply be, He just doesn't remember. It's like when you have a dream. You know you had it, but you can't quite put your finger on what it was about. You got drunk, abused a couple ppl, knecked w/a fatty, then got into a scrap on the way home, the next day you wake up and can't remember shit untill 1 of your boys reminds you. But who can remind your old Man of what happened when he briefly passed? No 1. The brain is a complex Piece of hi tec equipment. And like any piece of tech, it is prone to malfunction.

Ticket 03-10-2012 09:00 AM

Fucking weirdos.

Prose_ 03-10-2012 10:46 AM

to just say "your dead game over" is over simplification and vague as fuck. what happens to you? heres some of my ideas..

theory #1: if your brain is disintegrated/eaten by worms in your underground casket/rots into nothing you cant really "Dream" for all eternity can you? also theres fact that you eventually turn into dust and end up floating around the world in a thousand piece... i think since your brain is no more you cant think, you cant feel, you cant see, you cant hear... all there is is blackness as your COMPLETELY unaware of whats going on. you cant remember anything and you cant even form a thought to question whats going on. you dont even have a desire to. your personally and EVERYTHING basically is gone. your like a vegetable like UA said but not in a "sleep state" but in a "im so stupid i cant feel and i cant remember how to feel or even what feeling is. i cant form a thought or feel emotion" brain dead state.

Theory 2: reincarnation. your memory is wiped and your reborn as someone else. i always thought that sounded way cooler than heaven. Heaven would get boring as shit eventually wit all that constant happyness. its impossible to explain reincarnation really but i just really like the idea and kind of have an irrational belief in it a bit.

Theory 3: your a fucking unseen ghost. no one sees or hears you and you roam the earth as you please. your bodies gone and your souls move on. you can say that every single real life ghost story you've ever heard from a friend, the news, etc. is bullshit and just the imagination or some coincidence at most but you cant explain some shit. like sometimes its so creepy and real and so in your face that you cant say "ghost nigga you aint real". who are you to dictate what exist and what doesnt? who are you to call people who believe in ghost and religion? ima just stop right here but hey. just my opinion.

BLNK 03-10-2012 10:51 AM

What happens after death?: Decomposition.

Prose_ 03-10-2012 11:05 AM

@BLNK all you did was re-state theory 1... but in a more simplistic vague ass way that adds no relevance to the conversation in question. which is basically what you do in every thread so carry on. :high:

BLNK 03-10-2012 11:37 AM

Lmao, no relevance? You're an idiot. Lol. And it wasn't vague, simply because it wasn't overstated.

Prose_ 03-10-2012 11:42 AM

you chubby dumbass it was vague. it explained nothing and stated the obvious. it didnt add anything to the conversation. stop tryna be funny and actually have an intelligent thought for once in your life. grow up lil boy.

BLNK 03-10-2012 11:45 AM

What I took from your last post is that you don't know what decomposition is. Lol. It explains it perfectly.

Prose_ 03-10-2012 12:00 PM

Thats what I meant u sad little fool. I wanted to put my thoughts out and when I do I draw them out a bit for emphasis. You did nothing. How is what u said relevant? This thread is about what happens to the "soul" or essence of a human after there body is gone. U didn't do that. U explained what happens to the body. Ya know what? Never mind. Stop tryna show signs of intellect u clearly don't have. It's worse than most of ur corny ass jokes.

BLNK 03-10-2012 12:06 PM

This thread is about what happens after you die, or can't you read the title? Lol. And, I would rather have a simple, one word explanation, than a drawn out, overstated paragraph that shows my lack of understanding about the proccess of decomposing, IE your "Theory" 1. Lol.

Prose_ 03-10-2012 12:12 PM

Ok... Why the fuck wud pulse make a thread to About death just to talk about how bodies decompose and about how flesh rots and shit like that? Really? Did ur dumbass seriously take the thread title as literally him wanting to discuss how flesh rots away?

BLNK 03-10-2012 12:27 PM

Moronism is a serious form of mental deficiency, you should seek help immediately.

This is true. We are all connected. Once the spirit exits one realm, and one body, I believe it leaves its human shell and gathers more and more knowledge in other shells. I don't think the cycle ever ends.

Mayneak 03-10-2012 12:30 PM

You either get put in a box underground to rot or you get burnt and put in a urn...simple :high:

Prose_ 03-10-2012 12:47 PM

Look @BLNK.. I understand. What I'm saying is the option of "u rot in the ground" WAS given.. But he also said explain that shit. U saying "u decompose" means nothing. We all know that. U just said the obvious. Just explain what happens to ur consciousness, soul, etc. I think that's the point of the thread. Not just to say "ur dead in the ground". WELL DUUUUH bitch.

BLNK 03-10-2012 01:05 PM

Tldr......

That Is The Scariest Thing That I Have Ever Heard(Read) In My Life

Godbody 03-10-2012 01:22 PM

Here's what I believe...from my understanding of the Universe...

When you die, you re-incarnate. You keep re-incarnating until you become a self-aware person and realize what your end goal is & why you were put here.

We are all beings of light...beings of the universe..made of matter that was the very same matter that created the universe. We have matter from stars in us and other things

We die and our physical body is gone, on this plane. but our energy/matter never ceases to exist.

BLNK 03-10-2012 01:34 PM

Those aren't representations of ourselves, though. MATTER/ẼNERGY, THOSE ARE REPRESENTATIONS OF THEIR OWN PHYSICAL ASPECTS.

Caps lock, the cruise control for awesome, but unintentional.

Godbody 03-10-2012 01:37 PM

And here's somethin to think about..Your reality is defined by your perception. at this time, on this plane, on this planet, we are limited to our sensory perceptions.... taste, smell, touch, etc

how bout when you die you get born into the the same cycle, or you ascend..maybe "graduate" to another level of being, on another planet.

The purpose of re-incarnating on this planet over and over again is spiritual maturation/growth.

When you achieve that growth you are worthy to ascend..the blueprint for achieving that growth are known as the universal laws...

Law of karma for example: Karma serves to teach you a lesson to guide you in your spiritual maturity. You cheat on your girlfriends, maybe get married..constantly cheat on your wife. hurt her, etc... You will be reborn, and in that life, you will be cheated on, you will be hurt, and so on. This allows you to understand what your wife from the previous life felt because now you're in her shoes. You have to learn its wrong to learn your lesson & no longer suffer that karma.

there's other laws, like the law of unconditional love.

law of one...which states that every conscious being on this planet is really just one. In other words, if you hurt one person, you hurt everyone. If you heal one person, you heal everyone. Because we are all one, but we have different vibrations. When we get on that same vibrational frequence is when we experience harmony.

law of attraction...which is about how you create your own life using the power of your mind. your mind is your master... Oh, and I find it funny that an image of a brain cell under a microscope looks exactly like a simulated image of the universe

NOBLE 03-10-2012 01:45 PM

@pU1Se You sound like me about 7 or 8 years ago. I still would agree with most of what you're saying to some extent, but their are holes to your reincarnation theory.

im tired of hearin u use the words 'understand' and 'universe' in the same sentence

and imma tell u why your regurgitated karma theory is stupid. there is obviously a break in consciousness between your socalled 'previous existences' as a human being so how can one learn from a seemingly unprovoked act of hatred/violence? is he/she to assume he/she was an asshole in previous life? is that previous life located previously in history? or can it be located anywhere on a plain of absolute time? If located previously, does it have the same neural structure? or is it a completely different person... how can a man be held accountable for a different persons actions, even if linked by the same unconscious spirit.

your inflated ego finds comfort in solipsism... and im not calling you out individually. man has inflated ego... we got tossed logical reasoning and we'll be forever fucked until what scientists call 'singularity' occurs sometime in 2040. CYBORG EVOLUTION!
