I just had an american kid tell me it was a specifically Cali slang term to call a piece a 'Llama'. I don't think that's necessarily so...but idk...maybe.
With references, a lot are very region specific... every rapper in California has written at least one Mac Dre punchline or reference.

The only weird slang I see Brits use is my friends in real life with the rhyming slang shit.

Also though, a point i made to phroxen.. There's only about 10 active UK members on here, we can't use any British slang because of the 10000s of Americans so we don't, so we kind of have to learn 'American' so to speak.

A lot of the time i don't know wtf somebody is talking about... When it comes to TV shows, sports, celebrities that are specific to America. I try not to vote if i really don't have a clue.

But if an American didn't understand a British verse... the majority of you would vote against the Brit for not understanding, without a second thought.

I attempt to write verses applicable to everyone in order to avoid this (I could write about football, eastenders and Jeremy Clarkson all day [insert any other British reference here]) and other than the very few UK battlers still active on here nobody would have the courtesy to even look it up. I'm accommodating to the Americans & Canadians on here, just because they're the "home of hip hop" doesn't mean they should accommodate any other cultural concepts on what is, after all, a WORLDWIDE website.
