Abusing mod powers
 

Okay so, this might just be me... but let me explain a situation. Lets call the mod in question 'Q'

So a member posted 'personal information' about me on the thread, leading him a to a ban, X (tha boss) told mod Q to ban him. Mod Q banned him and was very very happy with his choice to do so, and was saying it was easily a ban-able offence and completely out of line.

Now i'd like to make clear now i don't really care about whatever that member was doing or saying about me or w/e pictures he was posting from my facebook, water under the bridge i dont care... BUT

Later on in the day i accidentally offended moderator Q by saying making a suggestion and not realising i had said something offensive, i apologised when he told me i had caused offence.

A couple hours later i see the banned member post a new thread, i questioned it because he had been banned, and had orders from admin to be banned.. so i asked moderator Q about it, and he told me he had unbanned him.

Now i ask...

why would mod Q - who was so eager to tell me about him banning the member for being so out of line and quite proud he had lost his ban-hammer virginity - suddenly decide to un-ban the member once i had ACCIDENTALLY caused him offence, and swiftly apologise for the offence caused but he was too much of a bitch to accept it and move on from it when i didn't KNOW it was offensive.

that being said...i'm interested in how this is gonna play out.

I un-banned Rain - Matrix as i was informed to do so by Ticket, and to just let Rain - Matrix know that its a warning and not to do so again... ...

Mod Q is new. I don't mean to put you down at all here V but it's a learning curve, he's probably been bombarded by the member in question and folded based on abuse/ill advice.

I sincerely hope it's nothing more sadistic than that anyway. I also hope this thread doesn't cost you a ban for hurting feelings by being honest; it doesn't merit a ban but if the mod in question hasn't developed the thick-skin or level head required yet it may be seen as offensive.

Edit: this isn't criticism, merely interest in the case at hand.

The offence he took was nothing to do with the ban, but yes it could be a learning curb, or it could be something personal. Either way if i get banned for this it's a joke lol

There was no personal motive to ban or unban Rain - Matrix... I banned him i unbanned him, its no secret... dont know why she acting like its something massive adn all hush hush... i was following rules when i enforced the ban, and i was ALSO following rules when I unbanned him...

For the record...Mod Q did what he was told to do and overridden by a veteran insight on the whole deal. I'm kind of thinking that the two situations only have one common denominator and it's the person who was banned.

Well either way imo anybody would question it.

And also like i said I DONT CARE about the info given, and i posted the picture my damn self after it got deleted, before anybody says i'm being sensitive i don't give a fuck about it, it was the principle.

Nah your right... In a way... I mean you have youtube, award, title mods. those I agree with. theres a clear focus with those. But then u have audio and text mods which personally to me I dont get because though im a audio mod I still get text enquiries pretty much the same amount as I did wheb I was just a mod. being head audio mod I have no more privage over say Tick or Swayve and I dont really oversee them. They do they jobs n thats it. So its pretty pointless. but thats just my take on it.
