really? you must not watch much NBA lol...

Anonymous Poet 01-05-2012 07:13 PM

The Celtics my team and all and at the end of the season i was in doubt whether the team has the material to even finish 6th in the east. But watchin both games with Miami and New York showed me that this team needs some games to be 100% fit and after that they might be a problem

Ray Zeus 01-09-2012 06:24 PM

DreaDz NBA Power Rankings

This will be updated every Monday

1. Miami Heat (8-1) - They're figuring each other out nicely when the big 3 are together... and still winning games when they aren't.... that win in Atlanta was a big one for their confidence in their bench...

2. Oklahoma City Thunder (8-2) - Losing Eric Maynor is a big loss... and they're defense is 5th worse in the league... but with Durant being Durant... they are still gonna win games... as long as westbrook makes good decisions

3. Chicago Bulls (7-2) - They're having their best start since the Jordan days... Luol Deng is playing lights out on both sides of the ball and Derrick Rose is still playing at MVP caliber... when Rip Hamilton gets acclimated to Chicago they can be a challenge to Miami in the Playoffs

4. Atlanta Hawks (6-3) - This is not a biased opinion lol but the Hawks have outplayed the Heat and Bulls in all four meetings with them this season... they were basically 4 free throws combined from being 8-1... and their defense is smothering best in the league that ive seen...

5. Portland Trailblazers (6-2) - with wins over the Lakers and the Thunder... the post-Roy blazers are for real

6. Denver Nuggets (6-3) - Playing the best team basketball I've seen in years... but their loses to the Lakers and the Spurs left them out of the top 5 this week...

7. Philadelphia 76ers (5-2) - Got through that early road trip of 5 straight road games to start the season... now with 16 or their next 20 at home... watch out for them in the east rankings

8. Los Angeles Lakers (6-4) - Getting Andrew Bynam back was a big boost after starting 1-4...

9. Los Angeles Clippers (4-2) - Once they get completely on the same page... they have the talent to make a deep playoff run... watch out for them in years to come...

10. San Antonio Spurs (6-3) - Manu is a big loss for this aging roster... watch out for injuries in the future with this congested schedule...

11. Orlando Magic (6-3) - When Howard stops being a baby... maybe they can break the top 10... it's looking more and more likely he's gonna get traded before the deadline...

12. Indiana Pacers (6-2) - With 7 players averaging double figures... this balance might be good for the Pacers in this congested season...

13. Utah Jazz (5-3) - Very young team... just pulled off 3 straight home wins... depending on what they do on the road... they could make a push for the playoffs...

14. Boston Celtics (4-4) - Very old team... wont be surprised if a couple broken hips and slipped disks start to occur... they have a challenging stretch facing Dallas Chicago and OKC... but haven't played since friday so they should be rested...

15. Dallas Mavericks (4-5) - Dirk haven't found his game yet... would be hard to witness if they continue this trend and not make the playoffs... but they could have won both games against OKC and it would've been a different looking season...

16. New York Knicks (4-4) - Who would've thought adding Tyson Chandler would make the defense worse?? I know i didn't

17. Minnesota Timberwolves (3-5) - Ricky Rubio is playing pretty well... has a lot of room to improve... but man... Kevin Love is playing at MVP caliber... hopefully down the stretch they could lead this team to a playoff berth...

18. Phoenix Suns (4-4) - They did beat Portland... but ehhhh you can't be sold on them with ONLY Steve Nash on the roster... the rookie Morris is quietly having a nice rookie campaign though...

19. Houston Rockets (2-6) - Ehhhh they had a grueling start to the season on the road... but i think the wins will start to rack up later in the season...

20. Memphis Grizzlies (3-5) - with Randolph out for 6 - 8 weeks... you would think Rudy Gay would drop 25+ a game... sadly that hasn't been the case

21. Cleveland Cavaliers (4-4) - Kyrie Irving is looking pretty good... he's not gonna lead them to the playoffs by himself... but with a all star caliber acquisition next off season in free agency... they could be a playoff team again...

22. Toronto Rapters (3-5) - Bargnani is their only scoring threat... but ehhhh they're doing better than expected...

23. Sacramento Kings (3-6) - I seriously think they need to trade Cousins... but with Westphal literally lowering his trade value with his big mouth... they might get worse and not better... grim future for the once "Young Up Rising Team" in the west...

24. Golden State Warriors (2-6) - started pretty good... but since then... hell has broken loose... and with ankle issues with Stephen Curry... it cant possibly get any better...

25. Charlotte Bobcats (2-6) - They just got ass rammed by Indiana by 22... nuff said

26. Milwaukee Bucks (2-6) - They don't have Bogut cause he's in Australia tending to personal matters... and they are shooting 39 % the last 4 games... sucks for them...

27. Detroit Pistons (2-6) - You thought they had finally turned it around in Detroit with a win over Orlando... think again detroit fans lol

28. New Orleans Hornets (2-6) - Post Paul era isn't looking too good... with Gordon injured... it's gonna be hard while he's out...

29. New Jersey Nets (2-7) - The Nets have Deron Williams wishing he was still in the Euro League...

30. Washington Wizards (0-8) - Do i really have to explain this????

Godbody 01-09-2012 07:03 PM

Funny cuz I was just reading the official power rankings at ESPN (i go on that shit almost daily!)

Bulls should be #2. They beat the Hawks right after they snapped the Heat's undefeated record. Yeah the Hawks beat the Bulls back........after the Bulls had a 6 game winning streak.

ehhh i was fighting myself at that two three spot actually i saw it as the bulls got outplayed by the Mavs earlier this season but some heroics saved them while the thunder outplayed them most of the game and almost fucked up in the end... and also... the bulls did the same thing against the hawks... at home... so i just think the thunder are a smidget more consistent... nice point though makes alot of sense...

I know that... but still this is "power" rankings... it's based on who's playing the best basketball right now... that's like if through 10 games... the heat go 0-10 and the wizards go 10-0... we all know the wizards aint better then the heat... but that would be stupid to put them under the heat when they earned their spot... ya feel me?

Xplissit 01-09-2012 09:51 PM

new york and dallas should definetly be higher

K Rizzy 01-09-2012 10:15 PM

haha dont let tha old dudes fool u

celtics can handle there few games wit out any broken hips

BTD 01-09-2012 10:43 PM

lol power rankings work with a mix between record, talent and likelyness to win a championship

in nba/espn power rankings youll see a 2-5 new jersey nets ahead of a 4-5 toronto because nj has more talent

you gotta remember schedules plays a big part....some teams got good records becuz of easy schedules like philly....youll see them slow down later in the season

i looked up the power rankings and based it off of it... lol... of course i didnt agree with alot of it but majority of its how i feel lol

http://espn.go.com/nba/powerrankings/_/year/2012/week/2

BTD 01-10-2012 01:37 AM

loll i disagree with half that list, half those "experts" dont even watch half of the games every night and dont watch every team play....i only agree with miami being #1 and washington #30, lotta bad rankings for good teams like hows houston above the knicks....knicks bout to go on a winning streak

BTD 01-10-2012 01:39 AM

lol lamar odom aint a laker no more

lakers needa get dwight howard or they aint getting a title period, gasoft and world peace aint enouph to help kobe

BTD 01-10-2012 01:41 AM

boston fucked up trading perkins last year, there big men aint looking stacked like last year..jermaine oneal and garnett always gettin injured and never playing 100% and they got brandon bass too but they aint enouph for them to contend with chicago, miami or ny

lllllllllllll 01-10-2012 01:43 AM

@BTD We should've kept Perkins i agree. We have a good chance at having a decent record this year though

Ray Zeus 01-10-2012 02:08 AM

the rockets teams they lost to: @ORL @MEM @LAC @LAL @OKC and vs. OKC
with wins over: ATL and SA

the Knicks team they lost to: @GS @LAL @TOR and @CHA
with wins over: BOS SAC WAS and DET + CHA after i posted

clearly the rockets had the tougher schedule with more credible wins... and their 5 of their losses were against teams in the top 11 while the knicks lost their games to bad teams and didnt have any credible wins besides boston... and their on a downslide... soooooo it's a reason they have them ranked higher than the knicks... sir they watch the games... do you??? check and mate lmaooo

DreaDz Playoff Predictions

Since everybody is crying about the power rankings lol ill just post what i think the playoff matchups will be when the season ends

West:
1. Oklahoma City Thunder
8. Minnesota Timberwolves

4. Los Angeles Clippers
5. Portland Trailblazers

3. Denver Nuggets
6. San Antonio Spurs

2. Los Angeles Lakers
7. Dallas Mavericks

East:
1. Miami Heat
8. Boston Celtics

4. Orlando Magic
5. Philadelphia 76ers

3. Atlanta Hawks
6. New York Knicks

2. Chicago Bulls
7. Indiana Pacers

Ray Zeus 01-10-2012 04:33 AM

the lakers have more then Boston and the Mavericks... the lakers still are finals contenders... dont get it twisted people... they have won 5 straight with andrew bynam back they are a force in the west... the Mavericks lost Tyson Chandler... he played a big role in their championship run... with no presence in the middle... they aren't making it back to the finals... and Boston... they have passed their prime... and with this congested schedule and old legs... they're set up to potentially (probably won't) be playoff snubs...

FreezyCT 01-10-2012 10:04 AM

the celtics struck gold a few years back and never added to it, so i have no pitty for them...as much as i love jeff green, that was the nail in the coffin (perkins was to boston what tyson chandler was to dallas)

Ray Zeus 01-10-2012 10:06 AM

Score updates and comments Jan. 10th

Atlanta 106 New Jersey 101

Better game than it should have been... Atlanta came out of the gates strong but like any team that's been beat up by the same team twice... pride started to kick in and New Jersey got on a good little run... but wasn't enough to get the W... Josh Smith had stand out night with 26 points and 6 boards... one thing the Nets can get out of this game... the rookie Marshon Brooks is showing a lot of potential with another good game against the hawks with 19 points and 10 boards...

Indiana 86 Philly 96

Iguodala's 20 points was too much for the up and coming Pacers... with a good bench performance in this game they pretty much had control of the game throughout...

Minnesota 87 Toronto 97

Kevin Love really struggled in this one while Bargnani dropped 31 in this one... They're gonna need bigger contributions from Wesley Matthews... he didn't score a single point in this one...

Charlotte 87 New York 91

This game shouldn't have been this close at home against a less than average Charlotte... but hey... a win is a win...

Detroit 68 Chicago 92

Nobody is surprised at this outcome... top notch team against one of the worst in the league... pretty obvious outcome...

New Orleans 94 Denver 81

Denver's first home loss of the season... and a painful one at that... this was a gimme game but lackluster defense had a pretty mediocre Hornets team shoot %52 from the field... and taking alot of threes didnt help either... also their post D has to improve

FreezyCT 01-10-2012 10:10 AM

daamn...no love for detroit

BTD 01-10-2012 06:39 PM

lol you wanna make a bet the knicks do better than the rockets lmfao...do you even watch knicks games bro? lol...the knicks lineup has changed and the new players are trynna mesh with the new team....i get most nba games on my satelite so i watch half the games every night and watch all the highlights in the morning...

you should change the title of this thread to "espns power rankings" lol

the rockets got a good backcourt of lowry and martin but they def need a trade to strengthen up that front court.....lol you my nigga but watch knicks will win more games this week and in the entire season than the rockets

i aint saying ya rankings are terrible its just i got my opinion...and evrybody got there own opinion on them experts sites

http://espn.go.com/nba/hollinger/powerrankings

look how different these rankings are compared to the ones you posted, everybody uses different factors for these lists

BTD 01-10-2012 06:49 PM

i like these predictions better,id put philly 7th new york 5th and orlando 6th and boston 4th

yea that's reasonable... those are the main spots that could be a toss up

Ray Zeus 01-10-2012 08:26 PM

mines are the one's I made up... mine is completely different from espn's lol and if you didn't notice... in mines the knicks are higher than the rockets lmaoo i was explaining it in the eyes of an espn analyst...

Annnnndddd that one still has the Rockets higher than the knicks hahaha but hollinger got philly number 1??? that's a stretch... but like i said i made up my own rankings... and power rankings is again... who's playing the best RIGHT NOW!!! now down the road not projections at the end of the year... RIGHT NOW lol

BTD 01-10-2012 09:07 PM

lol all the descriptions for each team are the same ones from espn power rankings and yea like i said every body does power rankings off of different things....i do mine different from these guys and i probly watch more basketball games than some of them

BTD 01-10-2012 09:09 PM

i think memphis will get that 8th spot in the west too or mabe the jazz

Ray Zeus 01-10-2012 09:21 PM

no they're not lol but a few i did use a point they made in theirs... but that's only like 2 or 3 haha but hollingers was kinda bad haha
