Tech 9 is great but he doesn’t do anything for me sonically

He sounds like Eminem. It's like a rap/rock fusion that is on point with multi-syllable gymnastics but lacking funk and hardly relatable. He's dope, don't get me wrong... just not my cup of tea.
I agree with Black Thought being underrated. I would add cats like AZ and Papoose.

Yaki Khafafi was fantastic. Old Doog (?) Seems to have disappeared and people thought he was so good he was an alias of one of the greatest ever in Nas

I feel like I’ve out grown Eminem. I still love his technical prowess and still enjoy his crazy ass verses... but music wise I just can’t listen to him often. I think Ems beat selection is still a problem.

Logic has subpar lyricism in retrospect but look at his production. GODLY with the beats he gets to rap over

I'd go with Elzhi he was Dilla's protege and I've always enjoyed his music. Black Milk, Sean Price, Currensy quite a few I feel dont get the love they deserve.
