The third round was an absolute banger. We had closely contested battles, landslide victories and the Grand championship picture is starting to come into focus.

So lets now lets get into the best (and worst) of the Grand Championship round three!

Dissizit Vs Obey

Both battlers brought some bangers in this one, but the real story was the coming-of-age of Dissizit's tournament run. This championship called upon the new era to stand up and be counted, and Dissizit's massacre of Obey was a strong statement of intention.

ILLoKWENT Vs MAN DOWN

This battle was a fantastic display from both Grand Championship hopefuls. The unstoppable Illo came up against the on-form MAN DOWN, in arguably the best battle of the tournament so far. In the end, MAN DOWN managed to toppled the LBT Champion, leaving the tournament without its favourite for the next stage.

LOCKHART Vs Wonderbred

The closest end result in the whole tournament, saw Wonderbred bring out perhaps his finest verse to date, and used it against last years runner-up who also came with a signature drop. The battle was decided by a mere two percent, and although LOCKHART goes through to the quarter final, Wonderbred is the one who walks away with a significantly raised profile.

Manhattan Vs WarSand

Another close battle, both up-and-comers did themselves proud in an impressive spar, in which Manhattan was able to overpower his opponent. With both showing such good form, it is a great shame to lose one of them at this stage.

Dissizit Vs Obey

Now while this is not an upset in the usual sense, as the victor Dissizit was the favourite prior to the battle opening, the manner of the victory was certainly a surprise. Dissizit was in lethal form, and walked away with a landslide win over the skilled Obey.

AfterThought's no show cast a slight shadow over an otherwise hot tournament round. All the battles delivered as expected, so perhaps the true biggest disappointment is having to say goodbye to ILLoKWENT and Wonderbred, who both have done exceptionally in this tourney.

MD, you just defeated the GC's favourite. How do you feel the battle went?

Great battle. In the next round you meet last years GC runner up. Do you see him as a bigger challenge than Illo?

MAN DOWN just defeated perhaps the best active battler on the site. I doubt he'll ever have a better shot at the title, than he does now. Time to make that next step.

Speaking of this round, Manhattan is probably considered a bigger challenge than Ago given his form of late. Do you feel confident?

You've positioned yourself at the forefront of the FTOH movement. Does that bring an added pressure to you?

Lock, in the quarter final you face perhaps the most in-form textcee of the moment. How do you feel ahead of the clash?

You yourself were involved in a fantastic battle in the last round, how do you feel you performed?

The Wonder battle was something else. I knew that he was going to be really dope and a good challenge regardless of what everyone was saying about him. I was going in to that bout with a bit of Writer's Block and I felt it showed in some of my concepts that I felt were a bit lackluster. He's going to be a beast in the near future, so NO ONE should be sleeping on this dude.

Which battle besides your own did you enjoy reading the most in this round?

LOL I didn't enjoy mine because of how nervous I was, but I did like the WarSand and Manhattan battle a lot. Manny used a bunch of dope personals and I'm really a big fan of Sand's style. ILLo vs MD was pretty good as well, but my personal favorite was WS and Manny. RULE vs Askari was popping though

Dont worry me and Ask got something brewing for y'all. Finally, if you were to go out at this stage, who would you consider the favourite to win the whole tourney?

Osk, you had a real close battle in this round. How do you feel Black Book will do in the remainder of the tourney based upon your battle with him?

Which battle this round appeals the most to you as a reader?

This tourney was operated under a random draw, rather than a seeded set-up. Do you think this has aided or harmed the tourney?

Another solid tourney run under the belt for OSKAR. MAN DOWN stands out as the favourite to him, although ILLoKWENT was the favourite last round so lets see if this tournament can keep bring up the surprises.

Diss, in a tourney momentum can be a big factor, and you just white-washed the reigning rookie of the year. Whats your views on that battle?

In: The Nomad, you battle a guy who is probably perceived as the tourneys weakest remaining battler. Does this add pressure to you to succeed?

Regardless of who wins from this point on, your path to the title will be a difficult one. Do you feel like this tourney has been a coming of age for the new era battlers?

You get the feeling that Dissizit is silently positioning himself to take this over-due title. While the spotlight has shined elsewhere, Diss has been able to solidly progress through the tournament. So while GRizzEAT, Rican, ILLoKWENT & MAN DOWN might be the names on peoples mouths during the first half of the tournament, Diss might well be the last.

10. Says his experience that backs him up is PAST DISPUTING 4/32's in 5 months now he thinks he's ready to get thru the BRACKETS SMOOTHLY Dumb ass forgot the GC is 6/17's in 1 month, so FRACTIONS TRULY STATE HE'S NOT he was more 'miss-leading during that back-up' than LADY COPS on TRAFFIC DUTY!
