The moderators can very easily see multis, without a doubt.
Every person who creates an account has their IP logged and sent to the moderators, so the moderators know full well who is behind every account, whether you like it or not. So the mods most certainly are lacking, they need to ban multi accounts, i'm completely shocked that it's still within the rules that you can make one? that doesnt make any sense to me.

The thing is you can log in from a library, college, work. You can use vpns. The IP scan obviously isnt perfect. If it were multis would be way easier to police. As it stands, it's difficult to stay on top of.

That’s why banning multis won’t work. Anyone using one for nefarious reasons still can, and with a basic level of effort and competence can avoid detection. Banning multis will only stop the good guys, who just use them for fun and who bring a lot of humour and activity to the site. I think more comprehensive rules around multis and new accounts, like higher barriers to tournament entry and compulsory registering of multis with staff, is the best way to curb the malevolent multis but keep the innocent ones.

Butttt, I draw the line when moderators KNOW regardless of VPNs etc, that somebody is another person, then they let is slide.

This isn't a debate on whether or not multis are good/bad, this a debate on whether or not is should be allowed. It's hard to detect people who dont want to be dected, agreed, but some people are very open about this stuff.
