The point you are missing completely though is that the monkey has been labelled with the racist tag when it wasn't even used with that in mind. That's the fucked up thing about it. People use the race card far too often as it is. and you just provide more power to that by removing something that wasn't even used in a racial way in the first place.

You've actually done more bad than good. It sends out the wrong message.

Yes. But there is more to it than that, because if there wasn't you wouldn't have removed it in the first place.
