There's more than 16 people ranked. Only those ranked are eligible to enter tournaments.

The tournament isn't starting until the 4th, to ensure all battles that took place at the end of the season have time to close, as the top 16 may change by that time, meaning other persons may be in and others out.

Though whatever happens, there is no invitationals, fam. We've completely done away with those. To allow one person to get in, means everyone will want to just be invited... "well you did it for this person" :hissyfit: etc etc...
