i kinda have a problem with this whole "active vets make people improve" theory. Text battling is not rocket science for real...it takes some practice at first, but once you have the general concept down, its a matter of being creative and thinking. this argument/observation always comes about because perspective can only be gained in retrospect. you cant look at the site and say, "shit is whack"...it takes a wider view to see it, and you can really only look at the past and not the present in regards to that.

...i can agree with that... with as many 'vets' and 'legends' from LB and ughh (where I came from originally... you can't rely on them to build a style for you... that ain't hip-hop

a vet can't make you better (in some aspects) you've gotta cultivate your style...
...i son't think the site's talent level sucks... i think it's lack of diversity in styles is sickening... vets start 'making people better' you'll have crews of people trying to sound/write like the next man...

get original or get gone... in my very humble opinion...

i wouldn't have tried to start being more original had I not battled M_J way back when... that L was an eye opener for me so since then I've been trying to be more original than anyone else on here... fuck a win if you ain't got 1000 styles to offer. i think a lotta kids have one look and don't get me wrong that one look could be devestating, but shit after you get one down.. go for another style and take owenership...and another...and another

Chizzel, Mahvulus, Daddio, Illimit, Multiple madness, Urban IIZ, War Tank, Real Talk...All those cat's were active around the same time...

Excluding guys that were top then and sill are, (reefer, rican, I'm perfect, Unknown artist)...

The talent level nowadays isn't near as good.

Could people here compete with the ones I listed?? yea. I know Jason could, and I think that remarK and Huey would be in there as well..perhaps a couple others could compete.

But other than that?? not really. Perhaps people would throw my name in the hat to compete..

I do hope you know I'm about 1-10 against such cat's. I'm not competition. Rain Matrix (:() isn't competition. Rule isn't competition.

say waht you like, but right now the talent level isn't where it used to be. I do realize that peoles legends tend to get larger as time wears on, but I think this is an honest assessment.

LB just isn't as good these days.

Irregardless, I'm thinking up something to try and work on this. continue discussing, I'll propose an idea soon.

at the same time... motivation has a lot to do with the skill level gauged on the site at any given time...if the innovators are not writing the site is not thriving
