The text stars thing wasn't a tournament. That's just a lie haha. It was one round, no rules on who votes. Again, explicitly stated and encouraged to get outside sources by THE HOST HIMSELF.

In the actual tournament all the voting was done by participants.

Now how am I supposed to argue with you if you aren't even using factual statements? :(

That topical was just an example of something I could have blown up as a conspiracy the way you do with every small thing. I never held the title though fuckboy, you only took the effort to get it put into effect under someone's name after I lost it to your crewmate.

Curious how you tend to remember every detail of arguments that support you and forget important points in ones that don't.

Sign wasn't running that event, he might have organized it but it was Chris' event. On Chris' site with Chris' rules. I have a vague feeling sign is also named Chris, but that's not who I'm talking about.

And yes, he encouraged it.

I hope not everyone thinks this is true. Is it a factor for some folks? Of course but hopefully it's not the majority. If it is why bother battling at all? If this is the truth though, then changes need to be made somehow. Maybe all battles are anonymous until after voting.

That was hyperbolic to some degree, but it's also true to a degree. I mean you can't write pure shit and get away with it, but in a close battle between two people of similar technical skill level, the one more well liked with more influence and a stronger image will win every time. I'm willing to bet on that.

I'm sure you've seen 'legends' winning battles that are questionable. A voter's expectations before a battle play into how the votes come out. The verses are definitely NOT the end all be all.

And being anonymous would help to a certain degree, but in audio your voice can come out highly unique and quite a few people actually have distinct writing styles as well. Only so much you can do to mediate things.

At the end of the day, voting is all preference. And there are plenty of ways to influence preferences on a site of this size.
