fam your absolutely right, it was forced, but , i wouldnt dwell on a few lines here and there.. you need to simply view daddio's accomplishments on this site as a whole, and his consistency.wit quality bars... everyone's gonna have a few errs here and there, and i've yet to see perfectly schemed bars from anyone on 'every' battle theyve dropped... |

I didn't read the whole thing, but I can tell you that Grizz and Dissizit specifically don't understand wordplay. Rican used to be susceptible to this but he's worked hard on it recently. I'll go to the tournament now and I should be able to get an example from one of their battles.
Basically, wordplay all comes down to the grammar of the line when it's worded both ways. Because of Rican and Pulse who had a surge of this style on the site a few years ago, it's taken over now. Dissizit But now you're all alone, So “Rupt puns'll not CARRY YOU THIS TIME”! --- But now you're all alone, So Rapunzel not CARRY YOU THIS TIME --- In the first line, it worked because he had the tense on "puns'll" working. Because this is not present in the second line, the grammar gets thrown completely off. "Rapunzel not carry you". (Furthermore, everyone would pronounce the T at the end of "Rupt", which means the "Rup'" sound in the WP doesn't match exactly. GrizzEAT so w/ a bitch like "I? our essential links, will have his mom askin : AWWW, DID IT HURT?"(I.R.S.SentYouLinks/audited) --- So with a bitch like IRS sent you links will have his mom asking audit hurt Once again, when you write it both ways, you can see that the grammar is 100% off. Furthermore, Grizz is one of the best on the site right? In the high standard era. I.R.S. Sent You Links I-Our-Our-Ess-Ent-Shall-Links Our / R You-Tial (Shall) Wordplay is completely off. I just picked these two from their last tournament battles. Now anyone can say "Oh, EtH sucks, why listen to him?" but forget that and read above and tell me if I'm wrong. @Erupt had a big influence on these guys fucking up. Erupt promoted that everyone gets rid of the "Like" style of punches, and these guys really listened and tried to get rid of it. The difference is, Erupt doesn't have the technical downsides that these guys have, so it's not a problem for him. With Diss and Grizz, like shown above, when they try and execute it more originally they sacrifice working the wordplay out correctly, can sometimes not have exact sounding wordplay in the first place (step 1 in wordplay) and the grammar disappears. EDIT: Problem is, they don't get called on it. I remember RULE promoted ILL Vs Diss as an "AMAZING battle". I thought it was a horrible showing by two of the best in the site. The difference between both was, ILL came to me, looking for ways that he could improve his verse and didn't want to be taken in too much by the low standard required for high voting these days. EDIT 2: From being on the hunt for catching people biting on LB, I ended up reading A LOT of Pr0blem's stuff. I have no doubt that everyone has a read a line directly bitten from him somewhere on here. Him and KingOfSparta are the two most bitten from text battlers of all time. |
I think it dosen't matter if they old or new people say "HIP HOP WAS BETTER BACK IN THE OLD SCHOOL DAYS" but I don't think thats true it depends on the person who is making the rap, the mainstream is garbage used to brainwash kids but the underground is still great if you know what to look for. Old vs New does not matter because there was wack/dope people in the past and there is the same in the present.
