Honestly, i think thats enough, more than a lot more severely adult sites have in place, and as said, a lot of younger people can be comfortable and thrive in the environment, and are genuinely here to celebrate lyricism, your proposed measures aren't selective over the type of users you're deterring.

What I mean is, sure you might deter one or two fragile souls who could get triggered by site behaviour, but also some man like KG, some young princes looking to learn and grow as part of the community with their age proving no obstacle.

It's prettttty hard to find that privacy policy, and explicit warning, my guy. Even if that were enough(which I don't believe it is.), there's very few, if any who will actually see these warnings. I challenge you to go find this info yourself, and see how difficult it is to stumble onto.

so what turns up when you sign up then?

Okay, to this point, sure, KG's fine and all. But, as previously expressed, this is as much about the protection of the adult userbase as it is the child userbase. It's not only that, either, as this isn't about deterring "fragile souls." It's about deterring minors from adult content, regardless of their fragility.

Do you think a thirteen year old is reading a privacy policy, or terms of condition page? Moreover, do you think they're showing it to a parent? This highlights another prime example as to why there should be this deterrence. Maturity. A child will undoubtedly not be mature enough to take these sorts of guidelines into account when making their profile.

If this site was 18+ this thread would have like two posts because anyone with the ability to form a cohesive sentence sees through your absolute bollocks.

If this site were 18+, this thread would have never been made to have posts in it in the first place.

Edited OP to potentially get some staff thoughts.

but you expect them to be deterred by being asked for their age?

More so than not having literally any deterrence whatsoever, yeah.

plus, you sound like a bit of a pussy in all of this, trying to protect children from adult content online is a losing battle, all these changes will do is leave only the loudmouth arrogant adolescents to slip through to the site. Protecting children from adult content isn't your job, or the site members' job, should fall to parents or the heads of the site. Maybe rather than taking all these eggshell preventative measures, wait for a solitary complaint from a young user or parent to the administration.

Feel free to refer to the posts where I've expressed that it's not solely about the child userbase.
