Financially there can be no way, but there CAN be a show on mainstream TV pulling in a lot of viewers which the entire internet turns to watch. WWE obviously give a massive fuck about the IWC to bring in all the indie wrestlers they have.
Punk was still the most over guy in the company. Still would be upon return, closed in on by Bryan. ROH isn't WWE though. ROH is home to Punk. He rejected the match because it was bullshit for him. I never though his matches were great tbh, and thought he was a bit overrated on the mic, but it didnt change his overness. |
So you telling me that 'one' over guy can help ROH financially?
Why wasn't that the case with Kurt Angle, Bubba Ray, Jeff Hardy and Hulk Hogan when they were in TNA? Kurt Angle was one of the best wrestlers in history. Jeff Hardy was over AF Hulk Hogan is/was the biggest name in Wrestling. If CM Punk returns to ROH, then ye...they might sell some merchandise and some people might tune in to watch but ROH won't even get close to WWE. Let's not get carried away |
What OSKAR said..

Also TNA has never been able to come close to WWE's worst viewrship ratings with all these name. I don't think Punk will be enough to make ROH a highly viewed promotion

My dick, versus all your mothers vagina's tonight...in a Lumberjack, Falls count anywhere, Tables, ladders & Chairs, handicapped, 4 way tag for the title match.

Jeff Hardy's personal problems was always going to dampen his debut anywhere. Hulk Hogan isn't the biggest name in wrestling. He completely shit on that with his real life and other ventures. He was big none the less, and brought in guys like RVD, Hardy, Anderson etc., all of whom were booked into the ground. Nothing will ever get close to WWE's ratings. But that's because WWE has been a product for like 80 years or something insane. ROH MIGHT have topped 10, TNA MIGHT have as well. WWE is an established brand and will be the most watched due to availability and kids watching it or whatever. But someone like Punk gets mainstream success. You underrate his following. Punk (LB user) would watch ROH the second he hears CM Punk shows up. The reason that's a problem to WWE is because ROH's wrestling absolutely obliterates anything you see in ROH. Rollins Vs Ambrose would be a fairly disappointing match in ROH. WWE's 2 biggest stars, if Punk was to return right now; Daniel Bryan and CM Punk. Before either signed a contract with WWE, they were considered the top stars of ROH. D-Bry's turned into a fairly opinionated guy too. ROH is home to a lot of these guys. Added to the fact that ROH's booking is spectacular. They turn tag team wrestlers into champions in one PPV. This situation wouldn't be unimaginable to me. ROH Roster Kevin Steen Daniel Bryan CM Punk The Briscoe Brothers The Young Bucks AJ Styles Adam Cole REDragon Bad Influence Michael Elgin Tommaso Ciampa Austin Aries Bram The American Wolves DJ Z Jay Lethal Homicide Kenny King James Storm Bobby Roode TJ Perkins Samoa Joe Chris Hero Evan Bourne ^If this situation happened, WWE would have some serious competition on their hands. Add to that the possibility of a connection with AAA. Alberto Del Rio, Rey Mysterio (In like a month) and Mistico (Sin Cara, probably botch free).. ROH is already working with NJPW, so lets add... Karl Anderson Shelton Benjamin Davey Boy Smith Jr. Hiroshi Tanahashi Okada Jushin Liger And whatever other japs can be here. If Punk and Bryan joined ROH, the possibilities for them would be endless. Creative issues with Ambrose could see him join ROH in this situation too. I doubt Rollins or Cesaro would consider it though. |
I don't think Ambrose would ever go back to an indie company, to be frank.
|
^It would depend. I could see him leaving WWE over some creative dispute.
But if ROH managed to get superstars in, he COULD go to them. His direction has been great so no reason to ever believe otherwise. You guys reckon WWE will pick up Bully Ray now that he's leaving TNA? His physical condition is the best it's ever been. He has almost carried TNA for a long time, playing perfect face and heel characters. His mic work is some of the best in the business (no stuttering redneck anymore). He also was so professional with TNA, never having a moment of "This guys been sucking and obviously slowing in the ring, he'll leave soon". Add to the fact that Ray is already going to be over with the WWE audience, and add to the fact that the crowd are DYING to shout "D-Von, GET THE TABLES". D-Von will basically do anything Ray does. If Ray was leaving, D-Von didnt sign a long contract. Then you've got the fact that Dudley Boyz have one of the most successful wrestling schools around, and they could merge that with NXT and be some of the best trainers in the world. |
