And yes, if you examine history, words change shit as much as action, sometimes even more... it all depends if people will listen. Either way, my post still stand as well, lol!

Lmao at Interp. Back when the site was booming, the timeline that Cizzle is talking about, you were one of those "keyboard warriors and textbox gangsters". Just because you bought yourself a mic doesn't make you better than anyone else. I'm an internet forum poster / part time text battler, this is an internet website with a forum and text battling. Seems like that's the perfect place?
Cizzle, the shit pops up every day though. First time someone gets a battle that ends 2-1 and they lose, they bitch and complain about the voting being terrible. Same thing will happen with tracks and feedback and shit aswell. Nothing every changes because someone is talking. Action changes it. Also, the site isn't in THAT bad a state. We've got loads of guys battling every day, all of whom have their battles closed by the 3 day deadline. We've got people posting tracks and cyphers all the time. There are active tournaments with good turnouts happening month on month off. You can compair this shit to when it was a fresh new site, but the reality is that it's not that site and it won't be again. This is LB now, what happened to it was progression and time. And tbh, when the fuck was 2009 a good year in LB? Bring back 2007! |
I don't really care about my own feedback though DAVE... so I'm not being reactionary here-I'm concerned about everyone. Text is awesome... build them skills man, nothing wrong with it... I'm saying, some cats put hours into their battles, and tracks more specifically, and since we a part of the same community, we should show support... even if it ain't our steez, be honest about it, but show support all the same. If we in the same community, by large (on a community level) we shouldn't have just a mere select few that are being less ignored. I didn't make this cuz my tracks are getting less coverage... i made this cuz everyone's tracks get less coverage... sure, some folks got more time than others, like its hard for me to rate peoples shit like a lot of other people... but some people i see obviously have all day to go back n forth on the same tracks and forums... while many others, by high caliber emcees, are left naked.

lol i kept scrolling n scrolling n scrolling. thought it was never gonna end. i get your point though. i think its just the people who were once into this site heavy have either gradually lost interest, grown tired of the bitching at feedback so they dont bother or they've grown out of it (myself) I simply havent got the interest or motivation to make music or battle. Its just 1 of those things that happens over time. I think the sites had a good consistant run of activity (6, 7 years) and is now going through a transition. Its just a question of where is the new blood to take over carry the baton?

Its hard to say why it has been killed off from what it used to be.......I see mods and Admins throwing contest and tourneys all the time trying to get more participants etc seems noone really cares anymore......

True! Especially that last point @Interp. I'd say anything from 2006-2009 was LB's hayday, so 2007 was dope too...
also, @Dave, I may just be uninformed on the battle side of things, cuz all I piddle in now is tracks... and what i see on tracks side of things is sad as fuck. Again, these are tracks, creative pieces of art for the history books whether garbo or interesting... it's still history nonetheless, battles are so numerous, it's hard to scroll through that history, but small 3 minute pieces of art? Easy. I mean, I see people with industry quality material (not just my own, mind you, tons of other folks material) that is lucky to get 5 spins... again, we a community, cats wanna make a leap to tracks and break their neck on em, least we should try and seize opportunity to, yeah, may sound corny, but to just tell em to reach of the stars, or at least hit the sideways damn triangle and get a play outta it. ---------- Post added at 08:13 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:12 PM ---------- Quote:
