That era was better than this era for many reasons:

1. Crew beef/battles
2. Activity
3. Dopeness - you guys talk down about the battles of that era, but they created the blueprints that you all use now. At the time it was fucking amazing. At this time there are only a few cats wowing at all.
4. People are scared to battle nowadays, whereas before anybody would send anybody beef, and trust they'd respond to it.
5. The first real legends: Real Talk, LEFTY, Illimit, WAR TANK, TopNotch, B Mill/DeNiro, Meta4/So AmAzIn, Mani08. The list goes on. All these cats battled regularly and produced some of the hottest battles this site has seen.
6. Personalities. There are 2 types in general on these forums now: asslickers and "fuck everyone"s. Fuvk everyone was done 5 years ago by WAR TANK (Rain Matrix copied him) and nobody likes an asslicker.
7. "I'm better than everyone". Yeah I'm looking at Erupt, Grizz and co here. Beat some legends in some epic battles and we'll believe you. Otherwise just accept that you'll never be seen on the same level as RULE, reEFer or Huey when people recall this era.

These are just a few reasons. Nothing is stopping the current battlers making this a golden era other than the fact that they puss out of battles, are unoriginal and just don't carry enough weight. I blame multi-accounts, forced wordplays and those scared to catch an L.

Drop some legendary battles against some legendary battlers. After that who knows what this era could become.

@Askari WAR TANK wasn't even a heavyweight in the battle arena til the end of it, he was just a forum name who eventually got skill to back it up IMO funny as fuck though lmao.

Yeah, everybody would battle back then. Real Talk, Mani, Meta Illy all had frequent battles, now you have to book a slot with a heavyweight and wait for a battle (im looking at you RULE) ;)

We cant move into a new Golden Era until we stop trying to re-create the old one and downplaying some of the new talent. The Bobby Milk/RULE battle was proof of that. The bar is much higher now than it was then, but LB as a whole refuses to let the past revel in the HOF and move forward.

i agree wit everything in this thread. i see A LOT of bitchin and braggin on this site but yet the hotlist continually looks like down right shit. no good battles poppin off or anything. allllll the vets are too damn busy or weak and rusty to make anything good... then they turn around and complain how shitty all the battles are. VETS/HW ARE THE BLOOD OF THIS SITE!!! STOP BITCHIN ABOUT HOW DOPE THINGS USED TO BE AND HELP WITH THE NEW ERA!!!
