You lost against a text battling legend. There is no shame in that.

Aggo 12-21-2017 04:26 PM

@RULE if I could be the underdog instead of the favorite, That would be cool.

Aggo 12-21-2017 06:16 PM

@Esso how about someone who you know will show. Not someone who hasn't been active in 5 years who showed up to a thread once.

I feel ya...and your point is valid. I'm just really into chasing ghosts for the sake of shutting up the folks who say those of us who are active wouldn't have stood a chance against some of these guys from the past.

I mean, a lot of cats, even cats that had massive respect back in the day would probably get torched today. There are some names that I think (not going to state who) would not be at the top of the site if they came back. I would not count Deniro as one of those guys, but I would be interested to see.

Aggo 12-21-2017 07:25 PM

It's like that dude perspective who comes here calling the new heads shit while getting beat by our middleweights. I'd just rather not see the title put on hold. Battle him in the basic arena, if he is active for a bit get him in. How does he in any way deserve a title shot though?

Aggo 12-21-2017 07:27 PM

Rican didn't deserve the chance either IMO. I beat him twice recently, coffin dodger beat him recently, he didn't even bother to pen a verse. Why not give cats that are actually putting in work a chance.

I'll leave it up to RULE but nothing you're saying can be disputed.

Lockhart beat the person you are speaking of and asking to battle (Bobby Milk) in 2014.

Yeah, these old heavyweights can't even fuck with current era middleweights.

I mean, I would disagree pretty strongly with that decision, and Deniro's best work was a long time ago. I dont' know if he's at the level of some of the top cats today, but he is a legend and should he compete a strong competitor to win.

Nah he lost to 2014 Lockhart. No offense to Lockhart, I would place him as middleweight in 2014. Lock is generally considered upper-middleweight now. but Esso is also better than Lockhart (imo) so Esso won't have any trouble..

Depends, I think it would be interesting to see.

Let's also not forget that the talent level on this site is way higher than in the past, mainly due to the fact that everyone left is actually decent at this stuff. I remember back in like 07 when people were considered pretty good when they could string together actual lines and shit, since there were hundreds of trash accounts posting garbage everywhere. Lockhart is considered a middleweight now, but would have been rated way higher in the past simply because he would have looked better against the crowd.

Nah man. the talent level in 2014 was way higher than it is now. We lost a lot of good talent over the past 3 years. Anybody that was active then will tell u that..

I was just generally talking about LB after say like...2010 or so. ever since it stopped being a popular site with armies of noobs everywhere spamming 'fv, vb' on every battle.

I wouldn't happen to know if the talent is getting better or worse, I've been dropping by once a year for almost a decade now to vomit out some garbage ass bars and disappear again.

Shodan 12-22-2017 02:21 AM

gb fv vb no h8

RULE 12-22-2017 03:10 AM

i was thinking Milk Vs Aggo tbh.

Title match is undecided yet but i know who i want to face Esso.

Nicholas 12-22-2017 04:11 AM

I know Rule hasn't said this you're all just speculating but what would be the point of a first card if someone that isn't 1 - 0 doesn't get the title shot next month?

EtH 12-22-2017 08:30 AM

I think almost all of these cards lack showcase and matchmaking. It was short lived, but my TRBz thing had a lot of people excited because it wasn't JUST a "league" or whatever.

Because DeNiro won't be around long, there's no point in building a shot. Give him the immediate title shot. Either the narrative of returning hall of famer getting the belt is built, or you give your first champ big name win and a fresh opponent.

In this stuff, matchmaking needs to be engaging. People need to be excited, and battling someone they've faced 20times isn't interesting.

Build rookies and prospects from the bottom against on another. When their record is good, use them to pad a more experienced guy's record and to build them to a title shot. Either use "legends" as automatic title shots, or one off attraction pieces ("freakshow fights") to bring more attention to the cards.

Aggo 12-22-2017 08:43 AM

I would agree with you if I didn't think there was a greater than 50% chance of a title no show. That would be 2 in a row. How many more 32 line verses is esso gonna write for no reason. Eventually he gets fed up and stops writing for them as well. How much longer before people stop signing up cuz some "legend" keeps getting bumped ahead of them when they've been putting in work.

He ain't a legendddd he lost to Lockhart in a 32 in 2014. What you think Esso 2018 gonna do to him?

Its the booker in you.

If it wasnt for Rican i would probably of given Milk an automatic title shot.

Im still undecided on the title match, But i'll make the card soon so people can prep before the GC kicks in.

RULE 12-22-2017 05:11 PM

Will leave up for 1 more day.

EtH 12-22-2017 09:29 PM

Sorry I didn't know about the no show last time. Completely agree. I'd maybe even use him in a lower match then. Get something that could be fun as fuck if it goes down, but no one really cares about if it doesnt. DaDDiO Vs DeNiro could be awesome.

There's pretty much like 2 people on LB right now that Lockhart didn't beat before 2015.
