Army enlistment isn't mandatory in your country, no one is forcing your family to go fight that's a choice. |
Exactly what Pulse said, you don't see China or India poking their noses in. It always seems to be us and the US. And again. If we want to talk about doing whats right. We can pick holes in that notion all day. Theirs been plenty of examples of dictators murding their own people where we didn't get involved. Maybe that has something to do with maybe it isn't about "whats right" and has more to do with some sort of monitary gain or political power play.
Edit: Enlistment could end up manditory if it escilates enough. Plus it isn't just about millitary enlistment. Just look at the london bombings and nation wide blitzes WE'VE SUFFERED FROM ww's |

I mean they're called World Wars for a very good reason. We've had it spread to England before and it will happen again.

I think it's ridiculous to say "you guys can kill each other and carry on your Civil War, but just don't do it in this way with chemical weapons." The only way I can see a third-party intervening justifiably is if it was about the use of nuclear weapons, because that is something that once the radiation spreads, will affect all of us not just the parties involved. Regardless of whether or not Syria is actually using chemical weapons, there do seem to be some sort of ulterior motive. In war, nothing is sacred. People will use whatever means is available to them to get the job done. As much as we can judge their use of chemical weapons, our indiscriminate use of drones that often times kills civilians can be judged in the same way.

But @Noble, chemical weapons have the same capacity to affect surrounding nations as nuclear weapons.

The US wants oil, the middle east has oil. If they find ANY REASON AT ALL to go in and take over your country- they do it. They know nobody will drop any kind of nuclear bomb like @Jason said. Nobody will push the U.S. back because of their power and allies. So they walk in and take what they want at the cost of some "911 terrorist attacks" and sending a few troops to your country. End of Story. Thats what is going on. No matter what you say thats what everyones answer basically means.
This is why I live in INDONESIA, nobody cares about anything going on here. |

I'm not trying to make an argument that chemical weapons are safe or anything like that. Neither am I trying to say it's okay that civilians are being killed. However, what war hasn't seen civilian casualties? War is not a pretty thing. If we're watching 2 people in a knife fight, and we know that one of them is going to kill the other, it seems a bit odd to say "you guys can stab each other to death in any part of your bodies, but just don't stab below the waistline. If I see one of you stab the other in the crotch, I'm getting involved." I think the number 1 thing that the US can do if it's truly concerned about civilian casualties is to prevent those very same kinds of casualties from its forces. To go after Syria because they're "killing civilians with chemical weapons" seems hypocritical and pretentious. |

As @Jason said, I have no clue w/ the Syria situation. But I have 3 friends currently serving in the Marines, 1 in the Army. One of the marines is about to be deployed to Afghanistan, other in S. Korea. I believe what America is doing is right to some extent. I understand we're the ''big brother'' to a lot of countries that depend on us. But invading Syria obviously isn't because of this, when has America ever given a fuck about something if it's not going to be beneficial? We're probably doing it for, A. Gas or B. To snoop around and see if they possibly have WMD. But @Indonesia .. Here's what pisses me off. You say we go to war because of ''some'' 9/11 attack? THOUSANDS of people fucking died, good fucking people. Didn't your country have a tsunami not so long ago? Do you know America invested over 300 million dollars and sent over ships/aids/food etc.. to try and save your people? That's just plain fucking ignorance.
