Ima catch flak for this but saying L would've been the goat is a stretch. He was hella dope and def ahead of time lyrically, but his music hasn't aged as well as other albums put out during that time.

What if Big L already hit his ceiling? Yeah he was ahead of his time, but what if he showed us his entire skillset and what he had to offer?

In a similar vein I remember hearing Cassidy 15 yrs ago & he was head and shoulders above the comp as far as punchlines. Thought dude would be in a different stratosphere by now

But time has moved on and Cassidy's skillset remains more or less the same

Before I listened to this new school rap shit, before I would even listen to metal, there were only a handful of artists that I gave a fuck about. Big L is one of them.
