I think that Nick Cannon would be lyrically eviscerated facing Eminem regardless of what stage in his career Em was at. As far as the race card thing goes, I find it pretty difficult to take seriously when the feud is over Mariah Carey to begin with, and I'm doubtful many others in rap will either. If it didn't work for Benzino, it's not gonna work for rap's equivalent of a kids' game show host.

I really don't think Eminem is taking an L here either. I know that my judgement is clouded by how much I like Eminem, and that the internet's reaction is swung heavily by die-hard Eminem fans that lack objectivity, but I truly believe both The Invitation and Pray For Him are just shit tracks. Honestly I hope Eminem doesn't respond because he doesn't need to; I thought Rap Devil was actually a decent track that warranted a response, and Killshot was more than enough to respond to it, but here I think it would be giving Nick too much credit to go any further.

I don't think Nick's decision to go after Em now is because he thinks he can win, because he can't, but it's because he's losing relevance and getting desperate for some publicity for Wild N Out. If Eminem does respond I'll be happy because I enjoy his diss tracks, but if he doesn't Nick will be the ultimate loser.

I'd usually agree, but Eminem's the guy who made Nail In The Coffin. I'm a massive NaS fan, like Jay Z, but Ether or Takeover aren't close to the Benzino diss imo. Eminem has never needed competition in that realm.

Sounds like we could do with a thread ranking the all-time greatest diss tracks. Personally I think Hit Em Up and possibly No Vaseline are both better than anything from the Jay-Z/Nas feud, and probably ahead of Em's tracks too, although I think Bully is one of the most under-rated diss tracks in rap.

Yeah, I fuck with a few of the songs on Kamikaze, but even being a die hard Eminem fan, I absolutely can't stand Revival. I think that album and Encore were terrible. I actually like Relapse, contrary to the publics opinion on it. I always felt like the diss tracks from the Nas/Jay-Z feud were trash, I actually don't fuck with Jay-Z. I like a song here and there, D'evils being my favourite, but I don't put him in my Top 10. (Just my opinion). Nas is super dope though, in terms of diss tracks, it's easily Hit Em Up, I know that entire song off by heart lmao, it was just something else. An honourable mention would be Eazy E's - Real Muthafuckin' G's also, the video is timeless haha.

Go To Sleep - Eminem feat. DMX & Obie Trice too.

Only thing Nick Cannon is corny for is having 3 other battle rappers rap on his diss track. Shoulda just been him thats lame .

1. Hit Em Up
2. Real Muthaphukkin Gs
3. Nail In The Coffin
4. Hate It Or Love It GUnot Remix
5. Hands Down GUnot Remix

(Sidenote, in 2007 on Bebo I once went through the entire of You Don't Know by Eminem, 50, Cashius etc. and remixed it GUnot style)

I haven't listened to enough Jay Z to have an opinion on him besides Renegade and MBDTF, on both of which he is sublime. I actually think that Encore is under-rated, because although half of it is Eminem's worst material, the other half ranks among his best imo. Relapse is brilliant if you're in the right mood, but otherwise I'm not a huge fan.

I totally agree with Dysfunctional, Nick didn't just share the tracks with the other guys but really got overshadowed by them. I understand he was trying to do what Eminem did on Hailie's Revenge, but honestly I'm not a massive fan of that song either.
