DreaDz NBA Power Rankings

This will be updated every Monday

1. Miami Heat (8-1) - They're figuring each other out nicely when the big 3 are together... and still winning games when they aren't.... that win in Atlanta was a big one for their confidence in their bench...

2. Oklahoma City Thunder (8-2) - Losing Eric Maynor is a big loss... and they're defense is 5th worse in the league... but with Durant being Durant... they are still gonna win games... as long as westbrook makes good decisions

3. Chicago Bulls (7-2) - They're having their best start since the Jordan days... Luol Deng is playing lights out on both sides of the ball and Derrick Rose is still playing at MVP caliber... when Rip Hamilton gets acclimated to Chicago they can be a challenge to Miami in the Playoffs

4. Atlanta Hawks (6-3) - This is not a biased opinion lol but the Hawks have outplayed the Heat and Bulls in all four meetings with them this season... they were basically 4 free throws combined from being 8-1... and their defense is smothering best in the league that ive seen...

5. Portland Trailblazers (6-2) - with wins over the Lakers and the Thunder... the post-Roy blazers are for real

6. Denver Nuggets (6-3) - Playing the best team basketball I've seen in years... but their loses to the Lakers and the Spurs left them out of the top 5 this week...

7. Philadelphia 76ers (5-2) - Got through that early road trip of 5 straight road games to start the season... now with 16 or their next 20 at home... watch out for them in the east rankings

8. Los Angeles Lakers (6-4) - Getting Andrew Bynam back was a big boost after starting 1-4...

9. Los Angeles Clippers (4-2) - Once they get completely on the same page... they have the talent to make a deep playoff run... watch out for them in years to come...

10. San Antonio Spurs (6-3) - Manu is a big loss for this aging roster... watch out for injuries in the future with this congested schedule...

11. Orlando Magic (6-3) - When Howard stops being a baby... maybe they can break the top 10... it's looking more and more likely he's gonna get traded before the deadline...

12. Indiana Pacers (6-2) - With 7 players averaging double figures... this balance might be good for the Pacers in this congested season...

13. Utah Jazz (5-3) - Very young team... just pulled off 3 straight home wins... depending on what they do on the road... they could make a push for the playoffs...

14. Boston Celtics (4-4) - Very old team... wont be surprised if a couple broken hips and slipped disks start to occur... they have a challenging stretch facing Dallas Chicago and OKC... but haven't played since friday so they should be rested...

15. Dallas Mavericks (4-5) - Dirk haven't found his game yet... would be hard to witness if they continue this trend and not make the playoffs... but they could have won both games against OKC and it would've been a different looking season...

16. New York Knicks (4-4) - Who would've thought adding Tyson Chandler would make the defense worse?? I know i didn't

17. Minnesota Timberwolves (3-5) - Ricky Rubio is playing pretty well... has a lot of room to improve... but man... Kevin Love is playing at MVP caliber... hopefully down the stretch they could lead this team to a playoff berth...

18. Phoenix Suns (4-4) - They did beat Portland... but ehhhh you can't be sold on them with ONLY Steve Nash on the roster... the rookie Morris is quietly having a nice rookie campaign though...

19. Houston Rockets (2-6) - Ehhhh they had a grueling start to the season on the road... but i think the wins will start to rack up later in the season...

20. Memphis Grizzlies (3-5) - with Randolph out for 6 - 8 weeks... you would think Rudy Gay would drop 25+ a game... sadly that hasn't been the case

21. Cleveland Cavaliers (4-4) - Kyrie Irving is looking pretty good... he's not gonna lead them to the playoffs by himself... but with a all star caliber acquisition next off season in free agency... they could be a playoff team again...

22. Toronto Rapters (3-5) - Bargnani is their only scoring threat... but ehhhh they're doing better than expected...

23. Sacramento Kings (3-6) - I seriously think they need to trade Cousins... but with Westphal literally lowering his trade value with his big mouth... they might get worse and not better... grim future for the once "Young Up Rising Team" in the west...

24. Golden State Warriors (2-6) - started pretty good... but since then... hell has broken loose... and with ankle issues with Stephen Curry... it cant possibly get any better...

25. Charlotte Bobcats (2-6) - They just got ass rammed by Indiana by 22... nuff said

26. Milwaukee Bucks (2-6) - They don't have Bogut cause he's in Australia tending to personal matters... and they are shooting 39 % the last 4 games... sucks for them...

27. Detroit Pistons (2-6) - You thought they had finally turned it around in Detroit with a win over Orlando... think again detroit fans lol

28. New Orleans Hornets (2-6) - Post Paul era isn't looking too good... with Gordon injured... it's gonna be hard while he's out...

29. New Jersey Nets (2-7) - The Nets have Deron Williams wishing he was still in the Euro League...

30. Washington Wizards (0-8) - Do i really have to explain this????

Funny cuz I was just reading the official power rankings at ESPN (i go on that shit almost daily!)

Bulls should be #2. They beat the Hawks right after they snapped the Heat's undefeated record. Yeah the Hawks beat the Bulls back........after the Bulls had a 6 game winning streak.

ehhh i was fighting myself at that two three spot actually i saw it as the bulls got outplayed by the Mavs earlier this season but some heroics saved them while the thunder outplayed them most of the game and almost fucked up in the end... and also... the bulls did the same thing against the hawks... at home... so i just think the thunder are a smidget more consistent... nice point though makes alot of sense...

I know that... but still this is "power" rankings... it's based on who's playing the best basketball right now... that's like if through 10 games... the heat go 0-10 and the wizards go 10-0... we all know the wizards aint better then the heat... but that would be stupid to put them under the heat when they earned their spot... ya feel me?

Xplissit 01-09-2012 09:51 PM

new york and dallas should definetly be higher

K Rizzy 01-09-2012 10:15 PM

haha dont let tha old dudes fool u

celtics can handle there few games wit out any broken hips

BTD 01-09-2012 10:43 PM

lol power rankings work with a mix between record, talent and likelyness to win a championship

in nba/espn power rankings youll see a 2-5 new jersey nets ahead of a 4-5 toronto because nj has more talent

you gotta remember schedules plays a big part....some teams got good records becuz of easy schedules like philly....youll see them slow down later in the season
