I write, attempting to clear my mind

Of what...I can't seem to understand

The things my heart and soul demand

I feel oppressed yet know not my oppressor

This person who makes me feel lesser and lesser

Than what I am really and truly worth

My God given price from the day of my birth

I cannot be bought...not my soul, body, or mind

And if you look into my heart you'll find

Treasures and pleasures and secrets untold

Things even more valuable and sacred than gold

I realize the only way I can be free
