Firstly, props ot both getting here. This was an entertaining read on both sides. I've my winner off the first read. Both had nice concepts and approached them well, ones were just executed in a way that made for each punchline to hit harder. Fairs in, gents. Best of luck to whoever goes through.

Scheme is REFEREE IN THE RING

Posted on: 2021-04-12 14:38:35 Private Message Edgeworth

4 rhyming syllables - EH-x-EE-IH-x-IH - CAPITALS are stressed and x’s unstressed.

EXPO - Telling him to bring personal bars like I have, not generic ones + personal content/pay for exchange/therapy. His bars have less content than mine + straight edge/needing a fix/no substance vs clear lines/getting higher/meth crystals. New York Minute = short time, Lin was briefly v famous on NY Knicks. Crew abandoned/sinking/ ride a wave/escape the past/refugee ships. Piven played Ari Gold in Entourage. Scheme starts n ends w/ different Jeremys to show he went from relevant to irrelevant. Monument/Pyramid (pointed temple) /Grave/Egyptian Sphinx (lion body w/ stone head). Beverley talked trash before Clippers got knocked out in the semis.

Yo, whatever. I didn't want Squammy to get no-showed again so I submitted something last minute.

EXPO: VA = Veteran Affairs/Virginia. Chesapeake Bay in Virginia. 5char like a test post to see your sig/signature. Lebanese food like a beef wrap cooked on a spit.

PM if anything else or whatever.

ok so i read this a few times. shit was scarily even for the most part due to different reasons felt like one did better where the other did not and vice versa which resulted in a lot of back and forth in the battle. few similar concepts too which is a no brainer in a scheme battle. Overall felt like one was cleaner but the other had higher highs which could make this go either way but i have my winner taking by barely half a point tbh. this battle was closer than a mother and her child!

I'm going to have to go with the person who stuck to the scheme better. I felt one fell really short here with concept execution and sticking to the rhyme scheme. My winner got a bit loose with some slants but his punches were a lot better drawn out.

creative drops from both, although one had stronger structure most of his rhymes didnt rhyme exactly w da last scheme word, hard decision but i got my winner here, great read

Nice battle. Surprised how this came out. Good luck to both. No matter what happens in these semis the final is gonna be a sick clash.

Ding Ding Ding ok lets get it.

Line x Line...

SQUAMMY

Line 1.

You better "bring personal content" or "pay for this exchange" like "THERAPY WITH A SHRINK" / Cos I "wrote a Series of Unfortunate Events" on my "LEMONY SNICKET" SHIT

Be nice if you through some internal multies there—you kind of just stuck with a subpar concept & executed it with a reachy slant rhyme (which this site hates apparently). Usually I defend them but idk about Shit & Shrink. Swing 'n a miss.

Line 2.

Let’s get this "straight EDGE", YOU "NEEDING A FIX" / You have "no substance" while my "clear lines get me higher" like "methamPHETAMINE CRYSTAL HITS"

Straight edge / no substance concept is dope. Style points there. Honestly, as far as the second line—I think it would've flowed/rhymed better without "Crystal"—syllables would've matched up better too where you need emphasis. Think it could've been executed a bit better. Solid jab overall.

Line 3.

L.O.D IS HIS CLIQUE, they were "hot for a New York minute" like "JEREMY LIN ON KNICKS" but now most don’t battle, his "crew’s abandoned", the LEGACY’S "SINKING" QUICK yet you’re still tryna "ride a wave to escape the past" like a "REFUGEE IN A SHIP" /

Against the grain here but bear w me. I think "Jeremy Lin on "the" Knicks would've flowed & sounded better. Idk if it was a typo, but sacrificing the constitution of the sentence to match syllables often doesn't work for the flow either, idc what LB thinks lol. Makes it come off robotic. Style points for the New York/Lin concept though. Rest of the bars concepts were pretty whack tbh. & again, I hear LB talking about old heads "not keeping up" w the modern writing? lol. Where's the internal schemes???? Lousy jab here, no 1-2's.

Line 4.

nowadays we only see "Gold in the Entourage" watching "JEREMY PIVEN CLIPS" / Headshot, the toy’s-"monumental", watch the "point-on-the-temple" like you WENT TO SEE "PYRAMIDS" /

There's the internal scheme!!!! Solid line all around. Flowed well. Good concepts. Solid hook here.

Line 5.

"Grave" danger, his "body lyin’ (lion) with a head stone": he resEMBLES "EGYPTIAN SPHINX" / "One shot will fuck up your whole image" and have your SELF ESTEEM CRIPPLING like "celEBRITY NIPPLE SLIPS" /

Squammy building momentum here. Another solid line, points for carrying the egyptian concept. Good concepts/ execution. Uppercut to follow the hook. BOOM.

Line 6.

But he never-would-spark, fuck what he reps-in-the-bars, if we see "Edge-with-an-arm" he’s dePRESSED AND HE’S "SLITTING WRISTS" / That "shit in your mouth" will get your "body sewn up" like the "Human CENTIPEDE STITCHING LIPS" /

That's a knock down. Another solid line; punch n all. Internal rhymes picking up, flowing well af. 1st bar concept was fkn bananas w the execution. 1-2-3-4-.... he gettin up.

Closer.

He’s "talking trash and getting knocked out in the semis": "Pat BEVERLEY WITH THE CLIPS" //

Would've really been a KO if you kept the internals going. Solid closer though, I like the concept & flowed fairly well though the set-up was a bit long. Solid verse overall. Good stuff.

EDGEWORTH.

Line 1.

They'll say I've naturally got the upper hand w/ some imPRESSIVE SCHEMES IN THIS THING, cuz I've had more "legs up to take out bugs like him" than a CENTIPEDE WHEN IT STINGS!!

Decent opener. Centipede flip on purpose? Subtle style points there—concept was ok prob could've been executed better/condensed to flow a bit cleaner. Lousy jab.

Line 2.

He might claim he's served time in the army, but I'm QUESTIONING THAT HE DID since he'd only "fit in riding that VA wave" in the CHESAPEAKE IN THE SPRING!!!

VA concept is lit, I'll give you points there. Execution good, I see the AB scheme you setting up—solid jab. Probably could use a seperate internal scheme by now to spice it up though.

Line 3.

Gun bars? Runnin Golden Eye's the fuckin only time he'd FETCH THE DEAGLE N SLING, so he's makin a "5char forum post" if he's seen "TESTIN ME W/ THE SIG"!!!

Good 1-2 follow up w a semi-flip. Solid concept, I like clowning LBers on gunplay too. Not feeling anything too powerful yet, feels like you setting up for something bigger.

Line 4.

Plus he'd never drop a dope diss track, he ain't conNECTIN BEATS N SOME SWINGS..he couldn't "spin this beef to make a great rap" if he was LEBANESE W/ A SPIT!!

Zinggg. Solid hook to follow up the 1-2. Homie's dazed after this one. Dope concept/execution, flow with the ab scheme is coming along nicely.

Line 5.

Fuck a battle, this a eulogy. The site'll love when I'm PRESSIN KEYS FOR THE WIN, this "body'll catch fire w/ this post" w/o burning an EFFIGY IN THIS RING!!!

Effigy concept pretty nice. Another good jab with a consistent flow. Got his legs week.

Line 6.

I could win this "high or drunk", writing w/o EFFORT BEATIN THE KID, he'll "go down easy takin a shot w/ E" like downing ECTACSY WITH A SWIG!!

Solid concept, execution to emphasize the punch I think could've been better. Like Ecstacy & Alc ain't too too bad. Creativity would've been served better with some sort of exaggeration. Set ups/fillers could prob sting a lil more too tho (especially w a seperate internal scheme) I see how you playing it into the concept. Light jab. He got his feet back.

Line 7.

At the "root of it all"? he lacks all the EXPERTISE OF A KING, cuz he'd only "branch out with something hot" planting PEPPER TREES WHEN HE DIGS!!!

BOOM. Solid hook. Lost his legs again. I like this concept, good execution with the setup & scheme follow thru.

Line 8. Closer.

I said put that bread up! Coulda raised the stakes n SET THE SCENE FOR THIS SHIT, he "couldn't produce that paper, but got this work anyway" like when a REFUGEE'S GIVEN GIGS!!! LoD..

Saved by the bell. Dope flip. Style points there. Can yall see the verses before they post now? Have you always been able too? hahaha be nuts if you snuck ~3 flips without it shiiiet. Solid closer though. Good follow through with the scheme though I think it could've used some more variety.

Line x Line I think I have Squammy winning it with a knock down as his momentum peaked towards the end. Depression bar prob had the most sting everything considered as I read through it. Though I think Edge might've snuck in more punches with a more consistent flow. Creativity & execution was about even.

Overall *re-reading all together*

Upon re-read Edge def cops the W. Flow was nearly flawless. Only thing that would've really knocked it up would've been an internal side scheme but he stayed true to the original & kept it most consistent. Considering it is a scheme tourny, that's a biggie. Squammy was a bit more choppy with the flow. Good concepts all around though. Close one.

It was bound to be a close battle with two heavy hitters so I had to read through a few times before I decided on my winner. This was tight and I thought both did well with the scheme. Fv!

dope battle here, both followed the scheme I see for starters. both the cenipede bars you guys both brough were decent flips and funy lol like wtf rhymes off of cenipede.. but i like how you both found that a dope rhyming word to use with the scheme, Both of you had some dope bars but reading through twice I really feel that one of you came a little harder with more personal attacks and slightly more creative bars. Good luck to whoever advances. you both are dope as fuck without a doubt. Fairs in

Really nice battle. Both went hard. I laughed at Squammy making fun of LOD with that Jeremy Lin bar. Edge did pretty good for a last minute fix. That ectacy bar is really dope! My choice is Squammy. I got him winning this because he stayed consistent with a lot of funny shit in clever bars. 8-8 peace.
