Better idea would be to pool resources and collectively figure out how to bring activity or just keep using this site until the wheels fall off.

For years and years we have been offering ideas left right and centre. Even mods have taken initiative to try something new and increase activity which resulted to short term patches instead of long term solutions.

It's up to the higher powers to show how much they care by speeding shit up (& showing up every once in a while)

Mods shouldn't necessarily be active battlers. As a matter of fact, sometimes it works out for the better when they're not because their ambition in pursuing titles won't get in the way of their modding. They SHOULD, however, be active and GOOD voters. In the past, pretty much everyone I personally nodded had gone through the FVC (or forum mod position) at some point or another. Without an FVC (or forum mod) testbed, it's harder, although not impossible, to ensure that prospective mods have certain qualities like good voting and work ethic. I read a business book years ago that suggested in order to keep morale and an atmosphere of steady improvement in your company, you should fire the least productive 10% each year. That was the approach I took towards managing both the FVC and staff. I would periodically (every month for FVC, every 3 months for staff) remove the least active members. It made me a lot of enemies (since no one likes to be demodded) but it kept the pool fresh. I've even removed myself from staff a couple of times when I realized I wasn't going to have enough time. I don't know why anyone would want to remain on staff knowing you don't have enough time or even give a shit about the site anymore or have lost faith.
