My biggest concern with people earning currency for forum posts is it may lead to some spamming especially if that currency is credits. Now they wouldn't even have to vote. All they have to do is spam the links to their battles everywhere and they'll earn more credits to keep battling without needing to vote.

I agree this is a valid concern but I think we could avoid it if we were smart about how the system was developed. More currency for voting and battling & rules against spamming. I think some currency for forum activity is a good idea though.

I get the points for basing on battling & forums, and @Nicholas point about community. I'd point out a lot of community activity also happens in the battle comments.

I'd put more "currency" into the battling criteria because ideally we want something like this to encourage more activity in battling, there are tons of ideas we can come up with, thinking like "achievements" from gaming consoles.. e.g:

- starting battles
- joining battles
- winning battles
- winning streaks
- breaking someones streak
- winning 100 to 0
- winning against title holders
- winning X number of battles in a day/week/month/year
- variations against crews
- variations for freestyle/written/blind drops

Just throwing out some ideas off the top of my head

However, what do you think is the main reason that makes guests actually create accounts on here? Is it seeing that alot of battles are happening? To be quite honest if I was new and I saw the battle section like it is now it'd be satisfied and make an account.

Why I prollie wouldn't make an account however is a dead forum section that honestly isn't a true reflection of the site's increased activity. I would look for shit talking threads like 'Fuck you @Phenomonon you about to go down' (no hate just hyping up tourney battle lol) and a bunch of other dudes giving their two cents hyping up the battle with their comments. What I want to see is a fun community that offers more than battling to me (something that'll keep me entertained in various ways and I can get addicted to). As a guest, I can't see the chatbox so for all I know the forums are dead therefore what's the point in signing up?
