Well, that concludes the New Registered Users section of this guide which is a big guide all in it's own. For even more information about letsbeef.com please continue reading on!

Text Battles

Their are three types of battles; Text Battles, Audio Battles, and Video Battles. These are all explained here in this guide in the appropriate sections. In order to create a Text Battle, hover over the Text section on the top navigation bar and select "Create Text Battle". Once in this panel you can choose to create a Private or Open battle, Ranked or Unranked Battle, and an 8, 16, 32, or 64 line battle also known as 4 Bars, 8 Bars, 16 Bars, and 32 Bars in-which 1 bar is equal to two lines.

These same rules apply to Text Cyphers except you can choose to do a solo cypher or allow multiple people to join you in your cypher with a simple selection from a drop-down bar as well as choose the Cypher topic. Enjoy your Text Battles / Cyphers!

Once you create your text battle you have to fill the text battle box completely before submitting. The text above will show you how many lines you have completed already. (This may not show from time to time depending on your web browser) If you complete all of the lines successfully and you still can not submit the battle for some reason, you can try 1 of 2 things (ALWAYS COPY YOUR BATTLE BEFORE SUBMITTING)

1. Copy your battle and refresh the page
2. Copy your battle delete a line or two and check to see if you can click the Submit Battle button. You can do this by hovering over the button holding down the mouse button to see if it selects it and presses the button, then dragging the mouse off the button before releasing the click. If that works and it allows you to press the button, then highlight all the text and press Ctrl + V. Proceed to press the submit button to post your battle.

Audio Battles

Audio Battles and Cyphers require you to have somewhat of a decent microphone and internet speed / connection. Once you have acquired both of these, your on your way to becoming an Audio Battler. To create an Audio Battle hover your mouse over the Audio button in the top navigation bar and click the Create Audio Battle button. Once in this panel you will be provided a customization page for your audio battle just like the one for your text battles except with different options. The options you have to choose from are as follows,

Written or Freestyle
(This is important, people do not like to see writers select the freestyle option. It is like photo shopping $100's in your hand. Although, accidents happen simply post in the comment section that it is a written if you happen to make a mistake.)

Length
(You have the option to choose how long your Audio Battle is. This changes between Audio Cyphers and Battles.)

Beat
(Here you can choose the beat for your Cypher or Battle. You can choose from either a list of sponsored beats created by letsbeef.com and their affiliates or select the Accapella or Custom beat option where you can play your own instrumental. When playing a custom beat it is best to play the beat through a good pair of speakers while speaking clearly into your microphone. Then adjust your sound after the recording is finished)

Private or Open
(Here you can choose between battling a specific user or battle anyone who accepts your challenge.)

Ranked or Unranked
(This specifies whether or not your battles will be ranked. If you lose the battle in a ranked battle it will go against your score and all time rank. You want to make sure you elevate before creating ranked battles.

Once you have finished customizing and setting up your Cypher or Battle, you can proceed to the recording step after clicking the Start a Battle or Start a Cypher button. Once in the recording section you must click the red record button once you are ready (You may be prompted to allow the recording. Just click accept and the countdown timer will start.) to start the recording. A countdown timer will start backwards from five once the recording button is clicked. When the timer finishes, the recording will start and your beat will start playing unless you have selected the Acapella or Custom Beat option in the previous step. Once you have finished your recording you can play it back and listen to how it sounds and submit it. If you mess up in the middle and want to start over, their is a little trick that everyone knows on here as the "back button" trick. Although it is not proper to use it in battles. It is very handy and common to use when creating cyphers and it will save you a lot of Audio Credits in the long-run. We can keep that a secret between you and I though. (Shhhh!) While knowing this trick, it completely eliminates the explanation and use of the retry button, which is self-explanatory as it is. The more retries you use on a battle or cypher, the more credits are deducted and depending on the type of battle or cypher it is, the less chance you will have to even submit your creation.

That concludes the audio section of this guide, for even more information on letsbeef.com continue reading below.

(Due to the 20,000 character limit on Letsbeef.com I had to divide the guide into two posts.)

Video Battles

The video battles are very similar to the audio battles. The only difference is that you have a web-cam involved and it makes the personal attacks a lot easier and more effective. So try not to look stupid when making a video battle, or it will be used against you. I do not do video battles so, I will leave you to figure this one out by yourself following the same guidelines with the audio battle. If anyone thinks their are specific video related information that should be added to this section please let me know via Comment or PM.. (Preferably PM)

Cyphers

Cyphers are similar to battles except instead of versing one person you are rapping with multiple people who join the cypher. The topic can be whatever you want and the other emcees have to rap about the topic picked by the cypher creator. If the topic is amazing and everyone brings some good material then the cypher just may hit the hotlist while getting a bunch of 10 votes in return. To create an audio, text, or video cypher simply hover over the audio, text, or video button in the top navigation bar and select Create "Audio, Battle, Or Video" Cypher

Crews might also use cyphers as "Tryouts" for new members to tryout and have a chance to earn a spot in their crew. Cyphers can also be used for Tournaments and Contests held by members as well.

Contests, Rounds, Topical, Crew Battles

- Contests and Rounds -

Contests are held to determine the best emcee's in a specific skill league. You might have a Grand Champion of Topical battles or the Grand Champion of Wordplay, as well as a Grand Champion for battling itself. Inside these contests are rounds which continue until their are only two people left. You can either be paired up in teams or be completely on your own depending on the nature of the contest. The last man standing is the winner once all rounds are completed.

- Topical -
Since we can't title our battles, topical battles are titled inside of the battle itself. The two Emcee's then proceed to type their battle within the topic.

In a topical battle a person is judged by how well they stick to the topic, how their concepts and punches flow as well as fitting the topic, personals, and wordplay. The better these skills are, the better you are at battling and the better the chance you have at winning

- Crew Battles -

Crew Battles are the only thing that determines how good a crew really is. Sure you can have skilled emcee's in a crew but, without proving that skill your nothing. It's a fight to the top to see who's better and without treating each other like a family and working together to get there, your just another wannabe crew that never made it. So, lets get started shall we?

Crew battles are similar to contests except specific members (Selected by the crew leader or captain) are paired up against the opposing crew to fight for the title of Better Crew.. This improves the crew rank, gives the crew bragging rights over the other crew, and increases the popularity of the crew. Don't take shit from anyone dissing your crew, if you think you got what it takes then go whip some crew ass if they diss your crew name. Just make sure that the crew your up against isn't way more skilled then yours. If you do, then your just asking for your crew reputation to drop and tons of hate and beef to come your way. For more information on crew battles go to the Crew section of this guide.

This concludes the Contests, Rounds, Topical, Crew Battles section of the guide, for more information about Letsbeef.com continue reading below.

Crews

- Joining a Crew -

In order to join a crew you must prove yourself worthy as an emcee first. Show your skills by battling other emcee's and maybe another crew will see your elevation and send you an invitation to their crew. Once in a crew you are no longer in the NOOB stage of Letsbeef.com. Although, there are plenty of skilled emcee's out there who are loners and don't join a crew. The fact of the matter is not having a crew and being able to join one if interested, and not being able to join a crew and wanting in on are two completely different things.

- Creating a Crew -

In order to create a crew you must first be an exclusive member and have at least 1 other person with you. After all, you can't be a 1 man gang. Well.. You could but it wouldn't be practical would it? So once you have that one other person with you that you trust you are ready to start your crew. Once you are in the create a crew panel you can choose your crew name and abbreviation. The crew name is what shows up next to your crew spot and the abbreviation is what shows under your name when posting a comment in the battle or cypher sections.

- Battles -
Crews are like gangs in a way, your a family of emcee's just trying to prove your skill.. If another crew disses your name you gotta go out there and teach them a lesson. In order to do that you have to
The first thing you have to do is be the leader or captain of a crew. If your a captain it is always best to talk any crew battles over with the leaders first before starting them.

To start a crew battle you must first have the appropriate access. You must at least be a crew captain to start a crew battle. Once you have obtained your status and have confirmed it with the leaders, you may proceed to start a crew battle. Starting a crew battle is very easy and shouldn't take more then a couple minutes to put together. Here is how to do it,

Hover over the Crews button on the top navigation bar and select the type of crew battle you would like to create (Text, Audio, Video). Once that is done you will be taken to another page that allows you to setup the battle. Here is where you will be allowed to pick the crew your battling, pick the members in your crew you want to battle the opposing team, and finally customize the battle settings whether it be Text, Audio, or Video.

- Leaders: Demoting, Kicking, Promoting -

Demoting, promoting, and kicking members from the crew is very easy. Simply, go to your crew page and scroll down to "My Crew Admin" and select the appropriate option in the drop-down bar next to the member you want to perform the action on.

Ranks

Ranks are very important in Letsbeef.com. When it comes to promoting tracks, proving skill, getting into better crews, and plain and simply just showing how much better you are then others on the site you want to have a good rank at all times.

- All Time Rank -

Your all time rank shows how good you are compared to everyone that is registered on lets beef. Usually breaking under a thousand is a decent all time record. It isn't easy getting a great record, it takes a lot of elevation, hard work, and skill. If you think you got what it takes then you should proceed to start your battling record with 0 losses as far as you can.

- Top Ten -

Top ten justifies your skill for the month, you can read more about this in the Top Ten section of this guide.

- Percentages -

Your win percentage is important. If you have lower then a 50% win percentage you are going to want to try and study more and elevate as much as you can.. A good percentage to have is around 60%+.

Top Ten

The Top Ten shows the top emcee's of the month. If you really want to show some true elevation in your skill, this would be the first thing to do. If you can acquire Top Ten on a monthly basis and hold it throughout the month. Then this will get your name out as well as showing your true potential. But, more important then the top ten is your all time rank which you can learn about in the Ranks section of this guide.

(Please Note: Some people are under the impression that the Top Ten emcee's receive percussive for holding it down throughout the month. This is not true! You must purchase exclusive to obtain it.)

Voting System

- Voting -
The voting system is used for a few things; determining a winner of the text, audio, or video battles; to rate a cypher; and to determine the amount of points given or lossed after a battle is finished. The points all go towards your all time record and your Top Ten rank of that month. Sometimes you can lose a battle 2 to 1, whereas you get two votes and the other emcee had only 1 single vote. This can happen because of voting power which is explained next.

- Voting Power -
Voting power is raised and lowered depending on the persons fair votes. If you are a hate voter and go around voting improperly against members who should have won a battle. Your voting power will be lowered and eventually your votes will mean nothing other then earn you credits. If you always vote fairly and become a well known fair voter your voting power will be raised and your vote could count up to 2 - 3 people. That's how powerful voting fair can be.

- Credits -

You will earn 1 credit for every vote you give to a cypher or battle.

For more information on voting please check the How To Vote link in the Extra Information and Links section below.
