Crews Suck Now

I just clicked onto Certified Dope, and saw that it's basically fallen apart (with the exception of Fidel who's still elevating loads). What's happened to people's ability to run crews? How come no one is able to keep them going anymore?

Murda Musik: Grizz and AfterThought. Grizz has his own "great" crew in Goon Squad. Both learned from the long term great crew Classick. Went down after around 2 months.

Classick: RULE starts it as a 'retirement home' crew, then recruits some up and comers and claims it will be a "revolution", then the rookies leave claiming nothing happened.

Certified Dope: Ambo and Row, two very active guys, throw this together and recruit some other active up and comers. A month later, JWall is a captain.

Regulators: Like Classick, RULE claimed he was going to make a difference and help everyone elevate, and never did.

Murder Ink.: Made by the new GC winner Swishha with a heavy roster quickly. Everyone goes inactive, and their most popular get gets banned for cheating (MF).

Disrespectful: Black Book has tried to recruit people, then stopped, then tried, then stopped, never gaining ANY momentum.

Legion of Doom: Went from perhaps being the second most active crew, behind Classick, to now having stricc and Moni as the only REAL representatives.


Look around the site. There are more than enough people for some dope crews. What's the problem? Are people losing commitment? Certified Dope looked like it'd be a nice little crew. Murda Musik had a pretty solid roster. Classick had all the best non-Chloro up and comers. Yet, none of it lasted for some unknown reasons. What do you guys think needs to happen for people to create dope crews?

I was recruited by most of these groups, plus more... But, unless Crew Battles r popping off every Month. Its not a big deal to stay with my crew of young'ns. I started this movement, recruited some talented MCs like @CakedOut @Lil Fidel Z @Dysfunctional... If we would've stuck together, niggas could've made it Pop #RealTalk

It is what it is though, I still fux with ya'll regardless. Plus, me @The Nomad & @_flASH got this... We out here elevating on our own, like a David Blaine stunt

But aren't kids coming through as well? I don't even really watch battling now, as dissing people in song seems weirder and weirder to me.

But there are plenty of dope, active battlers. You guys say it a lot, "ACs over recruits", but it's just a case of us having a whole team of active guys. Once you offer someone a reason to stay, they will.

Untrue. I agree, you've been around the likes of Fidel, CakedOut and Dys, and all have made a name for themselves, but it's not because of your crew. Although CakedOut bounced around a shit load, he was intelligent enough to hit the forums. His lack of elevation was due to his lack of commitment and focus, but when he was hitting big crews up and stuff he improved loads. Fidel was still pretty weak when he joined Chloro. It's not until recently where he's been any good, and Dys is pretty much the same. He was pretty weak in ACs Academy, and now has improved loads. So maybe you see then guys, and had the eye for future potential, but it wasn't until they all looked to step up to the next stage that they improved.

You do have potential, but look around, who the fuck knows ELOH STACKz? Pick a semi active big name, and they will refuse to battle you point black, claiming you're a nobody. On LB now, I seem to know everyone as activity dropped from 2007, so I know you pretty well and know you have potential. But unless you eventually go the way of Dys, Fidel and hopefully if he keeps his head straight, Caked, you will never really jump up to the next level and will stay floating around the "decent" field.
