Yep I agree, that's one of the big differences between audio and text.. audio you can damn near make anything rhyme and get away with it. Text it either rhymes or it doesn't simple as that. There is no accent to written words, anyone claiming that is a fucking idiot.
If you think about it this doesn’t make sense. There is no way to speak English without an accent. There is no one objectively correct way to pronounce words. Every place has certain differences in the way they pronounce certain things, and whatever you think is the correct way to pronounce something is just the accent you’ve grown up hearing the most.
That being said, some accents are more common than others. I speak with a New Zealand accent, but given that I’m the only kiwi on the site I wouldn’t expect anybody else to know my accent. Since the majority of LBers are American, the general rule that myself and most other people I follow is, something has to make sense in at least one of the major North American accents, or possibly the most generic British accent. This personally fucks me over a lot, because I’ve never even been to America so for a lot of my own bars I have to guess and ask people how they pronounce certain words. But it’s a system that allows the majority of people to have an easy enough job rhyming. My rule of thumb is, if you can easily imagine how two words would rhyme, even if they don’t in your accent, you should accept it.

But yeah texting with accents should have its own separate like sub section for people with accents, because i see it both ways...but again text battles are funny to me....

Its like some of these outcomes of audio battles are wrong...Shit the last 8 battles ive voted on or listen to today the outcome of each it wrong...and some of them Blatently wrong...These mods aint battling or voting, or doing anything else productive up here...Its really amazing the sites still up to be honest. I truly hope it doesnt get worse. Its sad....because LB is still a one of a kind place. shit its going on 20 years...I wish I was here at the very begining. The talent was beyond good...and there was sooooo many people. But like Duke, Easton, Mac, Florida 44, Danger Rich, Saint Chris, Lyp, XXX, Stotty, Real Talk, Msz Grimey(crazy she not on top 100 all time)....
Top 100 all time I see isnt incorporated with the rankings anymore? Meaning when it was changed to whatever the seasonal system is anyone who wasnt on the Top 100 when the seasonal rankings started will never be on it? And whoever is on it and is still currently battling their postion wont change? Basically like it says its for nostalgia? Because that list is off in ways...some shouldnt even be on there imo and some are definitely in the wrong spots....Thats one thing I nevr understood is how all the points for wins and some peoples votes counted more than others...shit changed alot. Is there something that explains how everything currently works?

Basically a mod or FVC vote counts as 4 votes so it automatically decides the winner of a battle and they don't vote off rhymes they vote on the names.

Staff have 3 VP (some might still be on 4), FVC have 3 and regular users have 2. So, just in case anybody’s buying Slang’s BS, staff/FVC votes are worth 1.5 (or possibly 2) normal votes. And most of the FVC were chosen and voted for by the users at the start of the year because we all had faith that they were the people who would vote based on bars, not names. It’s the people like Bnas who have been proven to not even listen to/read battles but just vote on names or hate votes that the FVC exists to outweigh.
