LBT Revival + Ideas

So as you know, LBT was shut down earlier. With the prestige of the title due to its longevity and holders, I hate that shit. I haven't been a fan of LBT but I think a lot of the issue is that there just isn't a lot of interest. I got given a title match because I beat Saxx, who at the time wasn't really highly that highly regarded. Guys like Lock and Rai battle one another 347 times because they were the most talented. That's cool, but why not find something a little more interesting for them?

So my proposition is that I run LBT, with some big changes.

Firstly, entertainment will be key. I want matches built off of organic storylines, not having someone with a 5-1 record battling Lock cause hes the only one who didn't no show. I want shit like MadVerbs Vs Uniplural, the two cypher dudes settling shit through a battle. I want Subreal Vs Punk with the stipulations they penned in, I want Q Vs Rican to settle their recent dispute. Even if these aren't viable, I want to find opponents for people that interest them to show up, not the same old shit time and time again.

In addition to this, I'd want to bring in tag battling to keep that alive outside of the tournaments and introduce a lower tier so newer participants arent being steamrolled by vets and vets dont waste their time on throwaway battles.

Usually I'd have made this thread nicer but I'm on my phone at the minute. In short, I want to make sure the league is fun, all the while building guys up through matches they are interested in to ultimately make meaningful title challenges.

I won't make any moves unless I feel people want them though. So what are we thinking?

I think this would be really dope. I'd definitely be interested in participating in this, and I will not bitch about losing my title shot if the card is reorganised and I lose it.

I think I'd want to close off the current situation properly. Imagine my concept as being a new writer hired on a tv show, and not a reboot.

I'd also be interested in using all time LBT records because it's been rebooted several times and records wiped for some reason.

MAJOR platforms have been doing this.

URL, KOTD, UFC they all make you want to watch by building up these matches etc.

Yeah I'd want it organic. Like say you Vs Uniplural, thats a laugh because of cyphers. Would it be a high level competitive contest? Would I want to see you guys slag each other in the forums for 4 weeks? Nah, but its a cool little gimmick that would give me something to tall about when building it.

I was also secretly building something behind the scenes for ACs in Illmania thats kind of fallen through, but thay could even be an Lbt card gimmick.

I'd also remove the idea of #1 contenders, but I'd wanna let Tongan and Gutz keep their shot so if people were down the next two cards would have the original two lined up. Then following that, we decided who the #1 contender is based on whatever criteria we want.
