Letsbeef.com presents...
Text Scheme Tournament X

After a long break from tournaments, we're excited to bring you the tenth edition of the Text Scheme Tournament! Sign up by replying to this thread saying you want to participate.

Schemes:
For those of you who don't know, a scheme tournament is one where you have to use the SAME RHYME SCHEME for every line of your verse each round. A scheme is the rhyme you use, not the topic of your bars. Each battle will have its own scheme, which will be given to the battlers at the start of each round. There will be a thread in General Talk for people to suggest schemes.

The tournament will most likely have 16 participants, meaning there will be 4 rounds. The first round will use 4-syllable schemes, the second round 5 syllables, the third 6 syllables and the final 7 syllables.

Examples from last tournament:

4 syllables: https://www.letsbeef.com/tournament_...742&section=tb
5 syllables: https://www.letsbeef.com/tournament_...762&section=tb
6 syllables: https://www.letsbeef.com/tournament_...765&section=tb
7 syllables: https://www.letsbeef.com/tournament_...768&section=tb

Deadlines:
You will have 3 days to write 16 lines for each round. You will be given your rhyme scheme at the start of this time period. If you need an extension, please ask for one as soon as possible. If your opponent has already posted their verse, you are less likely to be granted an extension.

Extensions will be given at the sole discretion of the mods. This is not a hard and fast rule, but in general we will allow each battler one 24 hour extension in the tournament, although this may change if we're running too far behind. If you miss the deadline without asking for an extension you will almost certainly be disqualified.

Prizes:
First place will receive:
• Scheme Champion permanent title
• 100 credits
• 1 emcee item of their choice
• The joy and satisfaction of winning

Second place will receive:
• 50 credits
• 1 emcee item of my choice
• Motivation to do better next time

Various people have talked about offering cash prizes for tournament winners. There is no official cash prize for this tournament and Letsbeef staff take absolutely no responsibility for any such offers. However, if anybody chooses to offer a cash reward to the winner to generate interest and activity they are welcome to do so (but this will not be guaranteed by staff).

Entrants:

Quick note: DO NOT change your username in between signing up for the tournament and being eliminated from it (or winning it). The tournament bracket system doesn't always handle name changes well, and if anything goes wrong I'll be annoyed and probably DQ you.
