Hi and welcome to Lets Beef.com
1. You aren't 'Da shit' till you prove it. So don't waste threadspace saying you are with no battles.
2. If you're gonna merk this whole site with your bad ass flows, take a number and stand at the back of the line. Here's your ticket #324123476...now serving #3.
3. If your number does get called to merk the entire site, you send the beef since you're the one challenging. Don't talk a bunch of shit and expect people to waste time sending to you. If you don't know how...read on.

This is an introduction on how to use this site so noone will have an excuse from now on of 'I'm new, I don't know how"
The site is seperated into catagories:

[text battles]
Text battles are seperated into 8 liners(4 bars), 16 liners(8 bars), 32 liners(16 bars) and 64 liners(32 bars)
Battle credits:
You get credits to start battles by VOTING on other peoples battles. This is incentive to keep the site going because you need credits to start battles and people need votes to win. You get 1 credit for every battle you vote on.
Starting a battle:
Battles take 3 credits to start. (so go vote on 3 battles lazy ass, and be honest about it, leave a decent comment)
Open battles: ANYONE can reply to an open battle
Closed battle: This is a battle you are sending specifically to only one person.
Go to 'Battles..then choose start text battle.
decide How many lines you want.
decide whether you want this to be an open or closed battle
decide what arena you want it in (basic is default, you cannot battle in exclusive unless you are an exclusive member)
Click 'start the battle' This will take you to a page where you will write out your battle verse and click submit. You're done. You can check your battle now in your profile listings of battles. You will also get a PM when someone responds to that battle.
Accepting a battle:
You will get a PM saying you have been challenged, follow the link to the battle and accept the battle. Fill out your reply and hit send.

Audio battles are carried out in about the same way, links are under 'Battles' ...start audio battle.

Same as Text and audio
[Cyphers]
Cyphers are verses you can lay down in 8,16,32,64 lines, audio and video.
You can do solo drops or collab with many people on one cypher.
You can make the cypher topic whatever your heart desires.
[Crews]
Let's beef has a 'Crew' feature to allow users to band together in different crews.
ONLY Exclusive members can start a crew, but ANYONE can be in one (if you can get in) You're best bet of getting in a crew is to battle a few times (and hopefully win) then find a crew that you like and show one of the leaders what you have to offer them.
[Battling tips for noobs]
[lesson one: structure]
Each line should be an entire thought. You can do two - three - 4 liners to get extremely complex later on, but for now stick to basics.
line one : the delivery and the punch
line two: the delivery and the punch
etc....
example:
You're just a kid pup, you're betta off in a daycare,//
This place is mad rough, come back when you have some pubic hair,//
notice each line stands alone and has a delivery and a punch.

If you're given 8 lines for a battle, then you write 8 lines
line one here
line two here
line three here
line four here
line five here
line six here
line seven here
line eight here
and so on...
Writing like this

Is NOT RIGHT. Seperate each line by pressing the big key on your keyboard labeled ENTER
When you write like that, you end up writing WAY MORE THAN THE GIVEN AMOUNT OF LINES.

Tips on Structure:
Good structure allows people to read your stuff better. The better they understand your flow, the more chance you have of winning a battle.

It's common practice to EMPHASIZE key componants in your battle to make it easier to grasp.
Capitalizing the words that you are rhyming in a battle makes it stand out, though thaat isn't always nessisary, it has become an adopted practice.
Imma hit you woth a BRICK, cuz you aint SHIT, you'll feel more pain when I WIN,//
The other school of thought uses quotations instead of caps:
Imma hit you woth a ' brick ', cuz you aint 'shit', you'll feel more pain when 'I win',//
(whatever works for you)
Using ' ' quotes around certain key words can show you want to draw attention to that word for a reason. Used around words in metaphores, it may make it easier to relate to:
That shit was pure ' bunk ' and ineffective,You're ' bomb's ' are 'duds ' , that ' Bugs ' rejected,//
Anyone that's seen the old cartoon with Bugs hitting bombs with a hammer would get this line.

Commas to guide flow always helps people understand how you are following the beat.

[lesson 2: rhyming]
Rhyming is ESSENTIAL to battling. If you can't rhyme one line with the next, you aren't going to win. Rhyming is also important to flow (lesson 3)
You can rhyme 2 lines at a time or every single line in your battle, but in some way, shape or form they have to go together somehow.
Multi's are rhyming multiple syllables together. Though Not entirely nessisary all the time (looks for the hateful stares) Having a grasp of what they are and how to spit them is a good thing.
I'll win, matter-of-fact
You'll die, splattered-from-gats
I'll out battle-ya-cats
damn you resemble-ben-afleck
[lesson 3: flow]
Think poetry, because that what battling is. syllables measured to beats.
(everyone has their own flow so I WILL NOT try to give the best one. It's just something you feel and you can match entire lines to the flow that fits. )
using the example from structure:

the flow is:
[delivery]1-2-3-4-5 [punch]1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8
each syllable has it's own count. As I said people use different flows, which means different counts. in basics, the same count would be used for each line OR alternating counts if done correctly.
remember battles are verses based on a imaginary musical beat.
[lesson 4: punchlines]
Try coming up with some innovative shit. Think of the funniest, craziest, sickest stuff and use them for punches. Try to be as descriptive as you can and still keep the flow.

I said be innovative because to outdo other battlers on here, using the same tired punches gets old.
Examples of overused punchline topics:
1. Fucking someone else's girlfriend
2. Fucking someone else's mom.
3. Pulling a 9 mill or 45 to do ANYTHING
4. Wiping your ass with someone's rap
I'm not saying you CAN'T cover those topics, but you better be pretty damn creative or you might as well not write it at all.
