The problem in no active admin simple as that. There always needs to be a leader with the ability to make executive decisions. The only thing that keeps moderators from abusing the little bit of power they have is an admin overseeing activity and investigation grievances from members. Even if the mod team was completely unbias and didn't use their status to sway battles and votes they still lack any real power to change anything that's broken.

I agree with a lot of this. The mods currently don’t have the power to fix any of the major issues on the site yet we cop the blame for it. I still don’t get what the “mods are abusing their power to sway battles” shit’s about but that’s a discussion for another thread.

One thing you need to remember is that mods are just people, so they make mistakes, but that’s true of admins as well. Just look at Pugz, one of the most frequent admins on the site, and also one of the most controversial and heavily-criticised staff members. When multiple admins were instated last year it ended up almost destroying the site (other stuff went on too, but the point is that no matter who you put at the top of the pyramid, there’ll be something they do that isn’t right and you’ll want somebody to hold them to account).

I don't feel right with Kiwi using my shit for his "leave the mods alone" agenda.
