RACISM: A double standard.

I don't know how many of you battle and cyph in real life off the head or whatever, I would hope that all or the majority do, but you know....

I go to community college, lots of aspiring emcees of all races. During free periods, at lunch, and after school... hella battles and just cyphs pop off. Shit used to be mad fun but this week there's been a problem.

For those who don't know, I'm mixed race....a few types of white, mexican, native american and even some black for good measure. I happen to have a latino last name though, so people assume I'm mexican or puerto rican. Honestly racist jokes don't really apply to me much less offend me... but if you're gonna spit 60 seconds of mexican jokes about my dad mowing lawns and my grandpa picking grapes.... why wouldn't it be cool that I call you on whatever stereotype your race has?

It goes down like this....Me and this kid that calls him self KenOB were both just spitting, he's black....I'm me.... like I said, for a solid 2 verses he just goes on some super simpleton racist shit, 90 percent was highly unoriginal and not even very funny. Mostly stuff about me landscaping and coming across the border.... then he outright called me a "fucking tijuana beaner"....

For my verse, I mostly called him on being a racist, but no one was feeling me, so I went for the jokes and said stuff like he looked like ken'TOBY'... and his real name was Kenta Kinte.... I rhymed "Fucking Queer" and "Chuck a Spear"... stuff like that.

I shit you not.... everyone was hella mad that I was going racist.... but no one was mad that he said way more derogatory shit...

What's the deal with that shit?
