Yea, seems like the online battle scene is fairly seasonal. You might have better success now with it being summer in the US and all them kids bein' outta school. But I can see it being pretty frusturating spending all that time doin' work and not seeing many results. If you down to give it another shot, I'll run around site-hoppin with ya. Dunno how much of a difference summer would make, but it might be worth a shot. I know there's a buncha people out there that would love this site, if they only knew about it. Finding them is the hard part.
