2013 Topical GC: "Go Green"
It all started about a million years ago
My atmosphere was infratrated with humans, geared to go
First it was one ship that landed, they inspected my orgin
Then more came after, declaring their portions
I’ve seen other planets get infected, falling to doom
The humans build factories that produce these horrible fumes
Sadly though, this species thrives on evil stuff
Whenever they are around, it’s disel trucks and trees is cut
Toxic waste, never cleaning up
My ozone is weak, my core is heating up
We all heard about what happened to Earth
The humans used her up, and she exploded shortly after my birth
Earth is now nothing but a urban legend
People never learn their lesson, continuing their yearn for weapons
Never prepared to stop
Their leaders running through worlds like a pair of socks
Now most of my days, behind my eyes is pain
When Im angry it thunders, when I cry it rains
They never saw the signs, acknowledge my cries for change
Wars lasting for years, everyone blind with rage
But today is different.. I woke up feeling kind of strange….
My tempature is rising, I’m quaking way harder
My ozone is thin, the sun baking the water
Ice caps just suffered a nice crack
Axels got me spinning to fast and might snap
I noticed my days are lasting to long
Other planets approaching, gravitational pull is too strong
Tornados, storms, blizzards happening all at once
Mountains forming instantly, like one every month
My blood is boiling, spewing through pores
Untamed forest fires buring their homes and stores
The humans are fleeing, quickly packed their ships
They are done with me, now on another galactic trip..
My surface is cracking, exposing a bright light
I’m ripping in half, so this is what the end of my life’s like?
My oceans flooded the cities, theres no land left
All signs of life has instantly vanished
No more humans slowly killing me, they left me with scars
The days of being a planet is over… I am now a Star...
