i think the problem is there isnt anyone active who is actually pushing that next level, and as a result too many people are praising mediocrity and it is setting the bar low rather than high.
the amount of 9's i see on battles where people arent even getting the basics right is astounding.
so many "heavyweights" active are not even able to construct a punchline properly using quotations. almost everyone is doing it incorrectly and it is the most fundamental thing you need to know to succeed.
too many people are "mentoring" other people and those people dont even know wtf theyre talking about. you cant expect to get better getting advice from people who dont even understand what they are doing.
getting advice on here 99% of the time will cause setbacks instead of improvements.
i dont necessarily have the answer to this problem .. i try to reflect on when i made the jump from being good to being a bit more stand-out .. and it wasnt because someone "taught" me .. its because i just worked on the basic things that most people fuck up and then i just found my own style naturally.
i think most people need to take a step back rather than a step forward and start mastering the fundamentals
^^^says the guy who threw a plain/plane pun in his battle wit pugz...lol.. jp
