Battle Rap and Professional Wrestling are practically the same thing. They're both an entertainment medium that rely heavily on a written format. A round in a battle, and a promo in wrestling are very similar concepts.

That said, this crossover extenuates beyond battle rap into the hip-hop subculture as a whole. People, for years, have made tracks with bars featuring wrestling greats. Probably in large part, due to the popularity of professional wrestling in the 90's.
