I'm confused
We decided to only have one audio and one text GC per year starting next year because 1) the site is less active now and 2) it brings back a bit of the prestige to the GC when people know they only get one shot at it through out the whole year. To paraphrase a fellow staff member, every other tourney we have only occurs once during the year so it make little sense that the GC, which is supposed to be our most prestigious tourney, occurs twice. Basically it's supply and demand..decrease the supply and demand goes up (at least that's what we're aiming for). As far as audio tourneys in particular, up until now, we've had two audio GC's per year...one acapella and one custom beat. If we only had one GC though and it had to be in either the acapella or custom beat format, it would be in acapella because acapella is just more popular with the majority of audio heads. We don't want to get rid of the custom beat tourney though, that's why we're switching it to an orange titled tourney (starting next year). We'll still have the same total amount of official tourneys as we've had the past few years, just that one of the blue titled tourneys on each side will be replaced by an orange titled one. Hopefully that clarifies everything.
