Obama (or whichever Democrat runs in 2016, probably Hillary) won't care about the southern red states. Those are lost causes. Same with Republicans and blue states like California, Washington, New York, etc. They really only care about the swing states, which make up about 20/50. That's why they campaign extra hard in those states, because they're pretty much the only ones that are up for grabs.
