MV is definitely right there; I think your problem is that you're trying to fit too much into a single bar sometimes. It's ok to use a simpler concept and execute it cleanly, and the reason that is better than a complex concept executed clunkily is that people understand it the first time they read it. Text battling isn't live battling, but the approach should be the same – most of your content should be clear to someone on their first read, without having to check an expo, so that they immediately get it and laugh/gasp/cringe/whatever the intended reaction is.
