There should be a better incentive for striving for #1 of the month. I say give the top three each month a small prize.
First place would receive 25 credits, the monthly award they already supposed to get just ACTUALLY ASSIGNED BY MODS, perhaps even a firey border to their name for the first two weeks of the next month.

Second and third would get 15 & 10 credits respectively.

Also, other cool ways to get voting going is taking the nicholas route and making an activity out of it. Racked up over 150 votes last time if im not wrong.
