@Fidel Z , nah homie I'm not saying Islamic people all beat their wives… thats totally not true. Yet, some of the Islamic scriptures (just as all antiquated religious scriptures) say some crazy things…. as @IamThugBro and @Crysis have supported with evidence.

The Torah and Bible say equally crazy ideas about people getting struck down for all sorts of things… Got to take it with a grain of salt.

I do believe that the traditions of wife beating in Islam has had a negative affect on Islamic women throughout history…. but not all of them… I'm sure there are good Islamic husbands out there.
